@spoonfedem Always appreciate your emails. 180mg is such an odd dose of CaCl. Often hospitals want CaCl to go through a central line. How would you order this where you work? It would be a volume of about 1.8ml of CaCl where I am. Might raise nursing eyebrows about how to do it.
@smithECGBlog@PendellM does persistent ST elevation after MI or ‘LV aneurysm morphology’ increase in size during demand ischemia? In other words does the STE worsen if there is widespread depression in the other leads in setting of sepsis etc?
Anyone working in an ED with a non-mydriatic fundus camera? I am very curious about these and would love to hear from people with experience using them.

@EMNews@Rick_Pescatore /2 GRACE-3 is a call for vertigo education across the board. Either you learn how to become vertigo competent, or you stay vertigo incompetent your whole career. And becoming vertigo competent is not that hard, but it takes proper education and practice.
@smithECGBlog it wasn’t subtle but we caught an acute LAD occlusion due to obvious hyper acute T waves today. Cardiology disagreed but we transferred anyway and they evolved into clear STEMI on arrival. More myocardium saved due to your blog!
@smithECGBlog Steve, in the heat of battle I think I may have called the Y beat a fusion beat (I didn't notice X on a casual first glance). This would have prompted me to say VT and to cardiovert. Why is this a PVC and not a fusion beat?

ICU stories (a boring one...)
This is a story that everybody working in an ICU will see several times/month. It's so common it deserves a separate textbook chapter. Its title: "The elderly/obese patient w multiple comorbidities, now w resp failure/drowsiness, who needs ICU care"
I will play golf with anybody. I don't care if you take mulligans or gimmes or roll the ball to a good lie. You do you and we can play together as long as you are:
1) fun to be around
2) kind
3) don't take forever to play
One of my favorite rounds in recent memory was in Sioux Falls, SD. I got paired up with 3 beginners. We had an awesome time! We were cheering for each other, helping each other find balls, and we kept up a nice pace of play. What more can you ask for?
Just hit 7 millions views in almost 60 videos about dizziness/vertigo! Thanks to all who have watched and shared them. If you think you've seen them all, click on this, I bet you've missed a few! https://t.co/aiLpyvjWSN
@joshmcgoo Not seeing that many per hour. Very few actually are when averaged out over the whole shift or month. Vast majority is echo, thoracic (CHF vs COPD), procedural guidance. But when US techs are not available anything goes - testicular, RUQ, DVT etc.
