No. We are not responsible for what happens around the world. That is absurd. The only people a British government has a responsibility to protect are the British people.

We are broke. Debt is out of control. Public services are strained. Households are drowning in bills. And she still wants to ship our cash abroad so she can look virtuous on the world stage.

She also says: “We’ve always been proud of our role in climate leadership. That is the history of the Labour government and that continues to be the case.”

What are you talking about? That is a string of empty words she thinks sound impressive. They don’t. And that is not the history of the Labour Party. Labour was supposed to be about the working class and putting their needs first. You and your party today could not be further from that.

It is grotesque watching her lecture people here who can barely heat their homes. When she says “we”, she means YOU. YOUR taxes. YOUR squeezed pay packet. Not her. Not her colleagues. They get the moral applause. You get the bill.

We have already handed over £11.6 billion in climate finance from 2021/22 to 2025/26. Now they want another £6 billion from 2026/27 to 2028/29.

We’ve had enough of this rubbish. If the public had a direct vote, this would be scrapped tomorrow. Protect Britain first. Everything else is a luxury we cannot afford.

The £150 cut (actually moving energy levies from energy bills to general taxation — so we’re still paying) was reflected in the April price cap, which fell by £117, after other upward pressures were taken into account. So not a £150 cut in bills
The VAT £45 is for only six months.
The upcoming price cap will be £400 more than the price cap Labour inherited in July 2024. So that £300 cut is so far out by £700 — and will rise even more next year.
You’ll have to go some to cut bills by £300 by 2030. You’re losing ground every quarter.
Now people can see who’s being disingenuous.

YEY! Brilliant news. The hotel bill is down and 73,000 illegal migrants claiming asylum have been dispersed into housing across the country, adding pressure to housing, rental prices and crime figures.

oh and that's only estimated to cost £15.3 BILLION by 2029, a 240% increase on the original estimate in 2019.

oh and excellently... that now frees up hotel rooms for all those failed asylum seekers living in tents on the streets to be inside by Christmas.

And the other bit of really good news is that the Home Office only spent £58 MILLION in 2024/25 on voluntary returns, including financial support for migrants to leave the UK. 👏👏👏

You were elected in July 2024 promising to cut average household energy bills by £300. Back then the household energy cap was £1,568. In October it will be £1,730. So instead of a £300 cut, a £162 rise. With bigger increases to come next year. Will we ever see that £300 cut? Or has it now gone the way of the promised to build 1.5m new homes between 2024 and 2029? I rather fear so.

The left are now trotting out their usual list of desired tax hikes. The tax-loving IPPR wants to apply National Insurance to pensioners. It has also once again dragged out the left's old chestnut of hiking capital gains tax to 40%, ignoring HMRC evidence that this would substantially reduce tax revenues.

It's been the same sorry pre-budget saga ever since Labour came to power.
1. Labour refuses to rule out tax rises.
2. Tax-crazy leftist think tanks, whose former staff populate the Labour government, promote all sorts of stupid economy-trashing tax hikes.
3. Business and wider economic activity slow considerably, as everyone waits to see what stupidities the budget will contain
4. The budget contains only some of those proposed tax hikes but they are bad enough to cause considerable damage.

The proposed 2% National Insurance charge would reportedly hit pensioners with taxable income above £12,750 - around 9.6 million people - to raise roughly £2bn.

That is not a narrowly targeted levy on a tiny group of “wealthy pensioners”.

It’s a broad new tax on ordinary retirees, many of whom budget carefully around fixed incomes.

Finally, someone challenged Miatta Fahnbulleh and she completely crumbled.

Well done to Tom Swarbrick for asking the obvious question about net zero and high energy bills.

Miatta starts off with a blatant lie:

“The reason why our energy bills are much higher than in other countries is because those costs are being driven by global fossil fuel markets.”

I mean that doesn’t even make sense. Why would ours be so much higher if it was just about “global fossil fuel markets”? She just made that up on the spot, and Tom doesn’t let her get away with it:

“It is not just down to being exposed to oil and gas prices because of wars far away. There are choices, political choices, made by you and your colleagues that say we are going to increase bill prices to pay for upgrades to the national grid, to pay for renewable subsidies. That’s what’s putting bills up.”

Exactly! We all know this is the case, but she just always tries to blame anything and everything but that.

Miatta: “Well, no. It is both. We should be honest and it is both.”

She says “we should be honest” at the exact time she is not being honest! Unbelievable!

Tom jumps straight back: “So not “no” then! It’s not “no”. It is true that you are making choices to increase people’s bills to spend on renewable subsidies and infrastructure costs.”

Well done Tom. I’ve watched many of her interviews this morning and previously, and no one challenges her on this key claim. They just let her off with the usual talking points.

Net Zero is a primary reason your energy bills are sky-high, and that is a fact.

They just don’t like to admit it because they know how unpopular it is, so they do what they do on almost every issue: blame something or someone else.

New rape figures show 1 rape or attempted rape every 18 hours in Glasgow.

What a dreadful reality.

We have been calling this an emergency for some time, while some have downplayed, denied the situation or mocked those raising concerns.

We are women living in Scotland, many of us in Glasgow. We have been approached and followed ourselves. We have changed how we live our lives because of fear.

So when we hear of a shocking rise in sexual assaults and rape against women and girls, particularly in Glasgow, we acknowledge that reality. We don't deny it. We don't dismiss it. And we certainly don't stay silent.

Yet our government has.

That silence should itself be cause for concern.

You don't reach figures like these overnight. They develop over time. So how have we reached a point where Glasgow is recording a rape or attempted rape every 18 hours without this becoming a constant, urgent focus for the media, politicians and the Scottish Government?

We've said it before: this should be dominating the news. Politicians should be speaking about it.

These figures are recorded by Police Scotland and published by the Scottish Government, which makes the lack of political urgency all the more difficult to understand.

The figures show a huge rise in domestic violence, from 164 cases to 400, while The Glasgow Times has reported several cases of rape in the city centre in recent months.

And yet we've seen people mock or try to dismiss those who have been raising concerns about this city. In fact, John Swinney even said Glasgow was “looking great” as the Commonwealth Games were approaching.

Perhaps it looks great when you’re not the woman having to navigate it.

One rape or attempted rape every 18 hours. This is an emergency.

Seeing so many tweets disagreeing with that BBC expose of Glasgow city centre saying bullshit like "I walked through the town for 5 minutes at 1pm and I didnt see a single thing, bloody far right" when I literally live there and just the another night when I was taking a friend visiting from abroad on a wee tour of the city centre we saw 2 fights, migrants openly dealing drugs and then a freshly beaten up junkie walking past us with his ear hanging off. He instantly wanted to leave.

If your "I am in Glasgow all the time" really means "I see it for about 10 minutes during my 9am and 5pm commute" then genuinely just shut the fuck up because you have no idea what you are talking about.
