As a former Tesla owner (2x) and now R1T owner: Teslas range estimates while driving have immense variance vs Rivian. Most people will get a premium R2 much like most people got a premium Model Y. Those ranges quoted are identical, but Rivian’s range will at least be accurate.
I want the R2 to succeed, but I think it's facing a lot more headwind than people are saying:
- The launch edition won't sell well as it's too expensive
- The cheap one won't sell well because it's not competitive to Tesla and other EV makers (range, features)
- They don't have a super charger network
- It's still a small brand (The Cybertruck outsold all of Rivian last year)
I think it will be modest success, selling maybe 30-40k vehicles. If they can get the price down and the range up, build out a better network and get something close to FSD they have a chance.

Bengals have the most playoff wins in the AFC North over the last 9 years and we’re sitting here doing this after an offseason spending 4th most of any team. Okay.
"You have to get into the playoffs, otherwise I think there is going to be major changes, and it may start with Joe [Burrow]."
@LRiddickESPN on the importance for the Bengals to make the postseason 👀
“I’m saying fuck Brian Thompson. I don’t give a flying fuck he died,” says Ashley Rojas, wearing her press badge provided by @NYCMayorsOffice. Lena Weissbrot adds that Thompson’s teenage sons “are better off without him” and should “enjoy the blood money.”
Broncos hit the Steelers with “The Pitt” parody and a pierogi overdose (which is a very real issue in some Polish families like my own, so not cool Broncos)
"I don't think Arizona is going to want to wear the tread off Jeremiyah's tires too early."
@DHx34 wouldn't place any bets on Love to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.
