I would love to know if OSP said anything about the "second chevron" or if the fire chief made that decision himself. I know OSP is well aware that it's unlawful to limit media access in the state of Ohio and the chief said OSP said they can come up.
It's crazy that one of the arguments the city is attempting to make in my civil case is that I was standing in the street... A street they closed for the express purpose of making it safe to stand in.
In the interest of full disclosure (not that anyone may care), I was arrested early this morning and issued a Minor Misdemeanor Citation for ORC 2921.31 (Obstructing Official Business) after being held for an extended period of time in the back of a Cincinnati Police vehicle.
I am currently able to monitor police radio traffic and for that I was able to respond to the scene when the shooting occurred and as such am currently the only news outlet reporting what actually happened last night.

Police officers shot and killed a person around 11pm Friday and one "mainstream" news outlet has it on their website at 9am Saturday, and it's a copy and paste of this press release.
This is again why the public needs access to law enforcement radio traffic.
Very well said.
If you live in Hamilton County or Cincinnati, Ohio the time to contact your elected officials is NOW!!
Public safety radio traffic will be 100% encrypted very soon unless YOU get involved in YOUR government!
@CityofCHeights the traffic light at Sunrise and Sayonara is malfunctioning, the light has been red for traffic from Sayonara turning onto Sunrise for well over five minutes now. The left turn lanes from Sunrise have cycled several times.
An Ohio police department is hoping to see the minimum age requirement for officers lowered to 18.
The chief said that because an 18-year-old can enlist in the United States military and serve as a firefighter, they should be considered mature enough to enforce the law.
5 CPD vehicles blocking 2 lanes on south 75 for a single vehicle non injury traffic collision with the vehicle into the bushes well off the highway.
An excellent example of what not to do. Reduce the hazard to both the officers and public by moving ALL vehicles off the highway.
After conducting a storm survey, we have determined that an EF1 tornado occurred near the city of Kenton in Hardin County, OH. More details on the survey results here: https://t.co/aQ9l45gRcX
If it's so dangerous for emergency workers to be in/on the side of the road that we have to enact laws requiring drivers to slow down or move over shouldn't emergency workers be obligated to do everything within their power to remove themselves from that situation?
He seems to go on vacation during most large events in the city. Perhaps he knowingly wants to be unavailable when things like this may happen.
I'd also be interested in knowing if the people are paying for him to cut his vacation short and his return to Cincinnati.
I host an Alert Page node and it's a great resource. Alert Page has also been involved in helping to develop a lot of ethical technology surrounding public safety radio communications monitoring.

Not once have I had an issue accessing a screen in Kentucky (or Indiana) but I've been arrested in Ohio, the state with a law making it illegal for the police to limit my access.
It's incredible the difference a river makes. Pulled up to the closure for the tanker truck fire on I-471 and told the police officer who I was and his response was "be careful and try not to get in the way" and he then allowed me to walk up to the scene, absolutely zero issues.
What's with drivers stopping on the left shoulder during traffic stops? This is something I never saw until I moved to Cincinnati.
Seems like a great way to guarantee yourself a citation.
These numbers from a little over a month by one law enforcement agency in one state should be enough to evidence that something is seriously wrong in the Commercial Motor Vehicle sector.
