@shellenberger Sounds like renewable grids should have a few substations where they spinup large flywheels simply to help stabilize the grid frequency. Would be a small efficiency loss, but you wouldn't lose the grid like this.
@anandafeier @elonmusk Even crazier to think that geometry of everything involved is largely defined by the fluid dynamics of earth's atmosphere. Imagine what could be done free of that constraint if we start building big stuff in space!
@Phil__09@elonmusk Thought experiment for you: absolute velocities don't matter. Only relative velocities matter. That rule applies to almost any measurable quantity. Only differences matter.
@elonmusk Make a minerals deal with Russia. We get minerals/trade with Russia in exchange for a guarantee that Russia will no longer attempt any expansion. In exchange, the US guarantees no more NATO buildup on Russian borders and no more killing of Russian citizens by the border states.
@tigertunesusa@EricLDaugh@DataRepublican That's literally the point. In addition to putting more money in your pocket, it incentivizes manufacturers to produce long-lasting quality goods. This is why 1950s era refrigerators are still in high-demand.
@EricLDaugh@DataRepublican This! Now do property taxes. Property tax is the death of people during an economic recession. They simply cannot retreat to their "own means" and get by to weather the storm. Instead, the govt will "repossess" the land they bought rightfully, and resell it to a grifter.
@CollinRugg All respect to the guy for having the balls to confront them (and they *do* need to be confronted). But, if you're gonna do that, you should probably have the experience to effectively defend yourself instead of assuming the confrontation will remain verbal.
@realDonaldTrump@elonmusk Can we spend some of the @DOGE savings on NASA? The software they release under the technology transfer program (https://t.co/UD6NqW2k6Q) is incredible and super useful for a small company like mine.
@DOGE Do standards orgs next. Many of these "standards" are incorporated by reference into federal law, then gate-kept behind a $$ paywall. Any org that receives federal dollars should be forced to make standards freely available. Why are they spending $$$$ on DC office space?
