Capcom is a Japanese company, Japan likes their over the top action and melodrama. RE went anime-inspired post-Nemesis, it's not lulz.

@heavyxeyed Peak millennial reddit mind in which everything is a joke. The scene itself is dumb as can be but intentionally funny it is not and never was. Japan audiences love that stuff and take it serious. Capcom is catering to a Western and Japanese audience.

The village itself is brilliant in terms of navigation, exploration, back tracking, and then you have some large set pieces that allow exploration/back tracking. Only a few spots are purely linear.

"It’s only Resident Evil in name" has been the exact same complaint for literally every entry since the original RE4.
RE5, 6, 7, 8, the remakes... at this point, not even Resident Evil fans know what a Resident Evil game is supposed to be.

@udgsatanic New SH2 is not a survival horror game. It's action horror. Big difference. Survival Horror involves inventory management, which SH has never had, Id go as far as saying no SH games are survival horror, adventure horror if anything. SH4 would be closest to survival horror.

@Ragestol @twinpeaksv @udgsatanic Remake is baby's first horror game and about 5 hours too long. OG SH2 has awful gameplay, is also too long, but has an amazing OST, story, and atmosphere. Both games are deeply flawed. SH1 is far better than SH2 in terms of pacing and gameplay.

@JMaine518 Plenty of people complained about the absurdity of that section, and Leon can die. Wolverine is bad, it's fine if you enjoy it, I occasionally enjoy bad games too but I won't white knight them.

@SuspendedDoll1 I don't think it's as good as Barbarian and Weapons but I enjoyed it. The house setpiece was the strongest part. I'm surprised at how tame it is. The lead actor did a great job though. Not a bad movie but a bit underwhelming in act two and three. Not scary either.
