@publicpolicyman Weird that the plows woke me up at 1:30am and the streets were all totally clear by morning. Almost as if they were waiting to the snowfall to finalize before bringing out the plows. Like they would with accurate weather analytics.
@LibertyMutual how about instead of a mass-printed condolences card, you instead pay the claims for services preceding my cat's passing??! 5 years of premiums paid, 0 prior claims, 1 final insult. Absurd.
🫱🏽🫲🏾We must seek compassionate solutions for the issues that affect all residents of the 26th Ward, including our unhoused neighbors in Humboldt Park. That's why I am advocating for a Non-congregate shelter in Humboldt Park, I encourage you to join me. 🧵——

✅ 6.23%, 75% LTV, 5yrs i/o
Seller had a loan maturing soon, so we knew they had to sell or face an ugly refi. We lucked out and were under contract during the 10YR's spike to 5%, which we were able to use as a reason to retrade. (And then rates dropped right back down, so we really lucked out.) We kinda feel like we stole this one.
I know there is a lot of doomerism out there w/r/t the multifamily world, but we remain confident that acquiring quality assets, underwritten and financed conservatively, in supply constrained markets, will deliver solid risk adjusted returns.
My personal opinion is that this is a great time to go on offense.
Iceland is the world’s biggest consumer of SSRIs. They’ve had 5 gun homicides since 2020; in the US, there have been over 30,000 in that time.
Japan is one of the largest video game markets in the world. They have only 10 shooting deaths a year; the US has 40,000.
It’s the guns
Abortion for *lethal* fetal anomalies is now *illegal* in Ohio
I’m a high-risk obstetrician here. I diagnose birth defects
So some point soon I may look someone in the eyes & say that they, against their will, will carry to term, undergo delivery & then have their child die
People pointing out that FDR won in huge landslide in 1936 and had big Congressional majorities: have you ever considered that his leadership in the four years of his first term, and his willingness to fight for people, had something to do with that? Maybe there's a lesson here?
I will repeat this as long as I have to, when the Supreme Court said in 1937 that the Social Security Act was “unconstitutional”, FDR didn’t ask people to vote harder in the next election, he told the Court he’d add more justices until they backed off, which they did.
@RiseUp4Kids2022@DianeEllison@JustinTrudeau Ah, yes, just like when we TOOK AWAY states' rights when they infringed upon equality during segregation, for example? The states do not have a fundamental right to remove a woman's equal right to freedom as men. Nice try though.
I believe CEOs have a responsibility to take care of their employees—no matter what. Salesforce moves employees when they feel threatened or experience discrimination. To our Ohana—we always make sure you have the best benefits & care, & we will always have your back. Always. ❤️
@machineiv @legumeeater @ttalgiuvvu @WalkerRainge@byjoelanderson It's technically like 10% from Indiana, but Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa aren't terribly difficult to get to from here. https://t.co/9OfIUyaJpN
