Our newest results comparing doliolid distributions from a variety of oceanographic regimes - great to work with this group and leverage all of the plankton images collected over ~10 years to answer a fundamental ecological question! @UGA_MarineSci https://t.co/acCdUux4vM
Undergraduate REU intern @MegAlberding spent the summer with the Plankton Ecology lab, analyzing ISIIS data on chaetognath distributions, and joining us in our summer cruise. Yesterday she presented a poster at the @HatfieldMSC summer symposium. Thanks for the fun summer Meg!
The Plankton Ecology Lab at Oregon State University has received their new #LISST-200X which they will use with the In-situ Ichthyoplankton Imaging System to investigate plankton size spectra on the Oregon Shelf.

Stomatopod (aka mantis shrimp) larva from the South Atlantic Bight - the adults have up to 16 visual pigments (we only have 4). Who knows what this little one sees, but it develops some of the most amazing eyes in the animal world!
@aslo_org@RenatoQuinones@OregonState@GMRI@udeconcepcion If your work touches on the size structure of oceans in any way, please check out the abstract at the link above. We invite work ranging from theory to applications, including new observational techniques, ecosystem indicators, and more!
Dynamic mesoscale and submesoscale oceanographic features increase foraging opportunities for one of the world's smallest seabirds.

Hey @ZENODO_ORG I should have tagged you earlier, but would you mind tweeting this out. The #plankton#imaging community would be very happy, and the product is quite well received on your webpage as well. Thanks!
Code is streamlined to set up the pipeline on your local #HPC as well as @NSF's @XSEDEscience. We provide a training library and test data. This is possible through a great collaboration with @CGRBOregonState.

@MIZ_BIOS@NSF @XSEDEscience @CGRBOregonState @OregonState@ResearchOSU @MSI_OregonState @OSUScience Hi, we are actively working with the Ecotaxa folks on such things, yes. In fact we are funded by Belmont Forum and @NSF in a project called wPIC https://t.co/IabSuqq6LN We work on a bunch of things, but basically on aligning the efforts of imaging laboratories over the world.
