Thing is, we have to really be careful about who we hate. Because 10 times out of 10, it’s going to be somebody Jesus loves. And he has a way of taking it personally.
When each of us looks back at all the turns and folds God has allowed in our lives, I don't think it will look like a series of folded-overs. Instead, I think we'll conclude in the end that maybe we're all a little like human origami and the more creases we have, the better.
Don’t stop trusting the Lord just because you couldn’t trust people. He is altogether different, altogether holy, gracious, compassionate, merciful & good. He keeps his word. Keeps you. Place your faith in Christ alone. He will get you through. Weep, yes, but knowing joy cometh.
Trusting God can feel hard when our life doesn’t look anything like we thought it would. But God sees things we can’t see. He knows things we don’t know. And He wants us to trust His ways and His plans.
In case yesterday was hard... can I interrupt your scroll to just whisper a simple but kind-of profound reality?
Friend, you got through it. And some days, just the getting through is an epic display of grit & courage & healing.
Keep going. You are seen, known & loved by God.
When we're walking through circumstances that seem unfair or hurtful beyond what we can bear, we must allow God to shift our perspective with truth.
In the midst of your wilderness, let God whisper His truth that He is good. He is good to you. And He is good at being God.
When God doesn’t seem to be answering our prayers in the way we expect, then we must trust there’s something God knows that we don’t know.
Even when what we see in front of us feels confusing. We don’t have to understand God to trust Him.
God is always doing something.
Keep trusting Him. He sees you. He loves you. And He knows exactly what needs to happen in every detail of your story. You do not serve a do-nothing God.
Prayers don’t have to be tidy to be heard. Pray and just pour it all out to God. He’s safe. You can be messy and messed up and mad as you get it all out.
Trust He is good. And He is working this out even when you can’t see it or understand it.
Go to church today—be with your Heavenly Father. Worship Him. Listen to Him. Encourage His family. Be encouraged by them. Refresh your mind with eternal perspective. Recalibrate your heart in hope. We need to gather, worship, grow, and declare His good news in a bad news world.
You’re not who people say you are. You’re not who social media says you are. You’re not who the scale says you are.
You’re who GOD says you are. And He says you're loved. He says you are held. He says You're His.
Forever His.
Hope as we get ready to step into the unknowns of a new year…
God is already standing in every one of our tomorrows. Standing there with His love. Waiting on us with His wisdom. Going before us with His hope and His provision.
