Joyner Junior Jamboree Update (2:00 p.m.): We are RAINED OUT for tonight. Joyner Junior Jamboree will not be happening tonight. We thought we could handle the cold weather but the fields at Kiwanis Park are just too wet from today’s rain. Thanks for everyone’s patience.
Whether you are teaching about world cultures, visiting a museum or even discussing Halloween costumes, talking about the differences between appreciation and appropriation can help students understand historical context and mitigate harm.

Our 4th graders were so proud of the progress they made on their morning meeting connection activity! I loved that they wanted to share it with me…I want to learn it, too!😉💚 #growthmindset@cindymetheny1@ConsciousD @CarynMouring
Everybody expects teachers to have amazing lessons everyday. But when they have to cover other classes or meetings or they're sick or family sick or a hundred other ors. Its an Unrealistic expectation. But regardless of lesson prep they're still amazing teachers everyday.
Don't just teach your children how to be successful, teach them how to respond when they are not successful, teach them how to handle failures and learn from their mistakes. 🧠
Teachers, if you are having a tough time with behavior management this year you are not alone. Students are a bit out of practice with self-management and self-direction. It takes time to readjust to a new normal. Be patient with your students and be patient with yourself.
