I should clarify. This was a scheduled c section. Both me and my wife tested negative for Covid yesterday. I don't want to put anyone else at risk. We have done all precautions to reduce risk. This policy only hurts me and my wife.
And the story continues @MountSinaiNYC Wife is there (alone) nurses taking 2 hours to come see her for a question she had. My wife had a c section hasnโt slept and there is no nursery tonight, and you mean to tell me that itโs not worth it for partners to be there to help support
@GMDavidson@MountSinaiNYC Did you ever hear from anyone at patient services? I just tried calling them for my wife on Monday. They are looking into it and will get back to me. Seems like they don't even know their policies.
@NYGovCuomo@melissadderosa@NYCMayorsOffice
Is this the experience that you wanted for people in NYC hospitals when you wrote your EO? This is a father who tested negative the day before. This policy is harming no one in the hospital but his wife. I will be there Monday.
@MountSinaiNYC .....this was an issue of communication that was not clear, mixed messages, and mixed signals through what already is an exciting yet frightening experience. As a top tier hospital during these uncertain times, this needs to be better
It is a scary time to either give or receive obstetric care in NYC. โIโve never been so dependent on such shaky data to make what are fundamentally life-or-death decisions" @neel_shah told me @NewYorker https://t.co/lUJXFAzVxy
This is why hospitals are not allowing dad's to visit. Please don't be selfish. You risk getting the nursing staff and doctors sick. This puts my wife and baby at risk and makes it so I am not allowed to be there. #mybirthpartner https://t.co/W7ex6AZiRU
@melissadderosa@nyphospital Still waiting for this revision! Itโs critical moms have support on the postpartum wards w/ recovery & caring for their babies. Nurses do not have the bandwidth to provide 1:1 support. This will also reduce risk of COVID exposure from healthcare workers to moms/babies @NYGovCuomo
@Goldnkash@GManMovieReview@melissadderosa@MountSinaiNYC I was told 2 hours by my OB. Normal c section stay is 3-4 days. They are discharging after 24 hours for natural birth and 48 hours for c section to get people home sooner.
