The first section of the Swing Bridge truss was lifted into place today! A total of 6 sections will be placed and connected over the coming weeks. This is a huge milestone for the project and gets us one step closer to connecting Grays Ferry and Bartram's Garden.

Thanks to a great group of volunteers from @mercer for working through the rain a few weeks ago! The porous pavers are back to functioning properly, allowing water to filter through the soil beneath rather than flow straight into the river.
PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll joined city and state officials today for the Christian to Crescent Trail Connector's opening celebration. The Department of Streets, Schuylkill Banks, PennDOT, and many partners are excited to unveil this new Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) section.
A long-anticipated link in the Schuylkill River Trail in Philadelphia is now open! 🛣️
The Christian to Crescent Connector extends from Christian Street to 34th Street, linking Schuylkill Banks in Center City to the Grays Ferry Crescent Trail. The project transforms previously inaccessible riverfront into a public greenway and unlocks safe, off-road access to nearly seven miles of uninterrupted trail for South Philadelphia residents.
This project was made possible through nearly $15 million in investments from DCNR, @PennDOTNews, and @PADCEDnews.
