Today we had a special visit from Jeremy Sampson, who delivered an amazing workshop as apart of #STEM Week! He taught us that although music can seem like a world apart from science, technology and engineering, there are lots of connections to be explored @IPAT_Edu @PrimaryElaine

We spent the afternoon building our prototypes. Our project is around Rochester Castle and the big question we’re tackling is “Does the weight of a building affect its strength”. We built light and heavy castles and tested their balance against British weather! @PrimaryElaine

We’ve had great fun immersing into STEM week, researching the importance of castles in England. We found that our very own Rochester castle, was once bombarded with 40 fat pigs, set on fire, to force rebels to retreat! 💣💥🐷🏰@ScienceatElaine @PrimaryElaine

What a fantastic start to STEM Week. We decided to start the week with a whole school assembly, where we learned about electricity and how it works! EYFS then had the time to complete an experiment using acid and alkeli! The outcome was thrilling! @PrimaryElaine
