Our GCSE Biologists used iodine solution to compare the starch content in ripe and unripe bananas today 🍌🔬
The blue/black colour on the unripe banana slide indicates the presence of starch. As bananas ripen, enzymes break the starch down into sugars.
The weather has not been on our side this week, but the Visual Arts department have worked hard this week to get the installation back to a sea of red poppies ready for tomorrow, along with a lovely added tribute from our prefects #WeWillRememberThem#proudtobetowers
