Summer solstice–the start of astronomical summer–was this morning at 4:24 a.m. EDT. The hottest parts of summer are still weeks away, but this year’s solstice does include above-normal temperatures in the Mid-Atlantic, Southern Plains, and Pacific Northwest.
They keep saying the summer solstice is the longest day of the year, but we’re pretty sure they’re all 24 hours long. *Ba-dum tss*
