Issa Tchiroma Bakary calls for a nationwide peaceful demonstration on Sunday, October 26.

Cameroonian presidential candidate Issa Tchiroma Bakary has urged citizens to take to the streets this Sunday, October 26, for a nationwide peaceful demonstration. The rally, set for 3 PM, is planned simultaneously across towns, villages, neighbourhoods, and within the diaspora.

In a statement, Tchiroma emphasised the importance of unity, discipline, and determination: “Our strength lies in our numbers, in our discipline, and in our conviction that the future of Cameroon belongs to its children.” He called on Cameroonians to “make our voices heard through a peaceful march that will show everyone, at home and internationally, that it is the people who choose their leader.”

Tension remains high across the country following the disputed October 12 presidential election results, which Tchiroma claims to have won. Authorities and citizens alike are watching closely as preparations for the mass march continue.
