It's finally published! Working with @jordanmckinneyy@jmbutler18 @bcgoolsby @alaurenoconnell and other lovely Twitter-less scientists at @LOB_SU for my undergrad thesis on FoxP2 in social 🐸 tadpoles was such a joy. So happy this work is out in the world!

I don't think people outside of academia understand how much time we actually spend finding citations for things like "happiness is good for you" and "racism is bad."
Publicly shaming an Ivy league school for claiming credit for the success of a women scientist whose work it disrespected and rejected is one of the best uses of community notes I’ve ever seen.
For the first time, a randomized controlled trial has been published regarding gender affirming care.
The treatment group receiving care saw a 55% reduction in suicidality, compared to 5% of control.
I detail the results in my latest article.

Let’s talk about Black physicians (5% of all physicians). We have statistically lower MCAT and Step scores. However, Black physicians taking care of Black patients decreases mortality. If we let less Black applicants into medical school, more patients will die.
Period.
My undergrad thesis work with @jordanmckinneyy@jmbutler18@alaurenoconnell on FoxP2 in social 🐸 tadpoles is now on preprint! Super proud to see it live and how I’ve grown since starting this project in 2018(!) https://t.co/NVYSex3MPJ
In case you missed it: Women are less likely to be credited for their scientific contributions than men. It’s true across multiple fields & at all stages, with important repercussions for career progress. #WomenInSTEM#WomenInMedicine#MedTwitter

Why don’t more Drs run?
Lawyer decides to run, big law firm gets him on payroll ASAP & says their priority is to help him raise $$ & win.
Doctor decides to run, has to distance herself from employer, takes months of non-paid time off, job is basically gone after election. 1/
In a showing of sheer grit and determination: my whole dissertation is now published!!

NEW: @HealthNYGov admits that even they don’t know how their proposed “carveout” would work: “The road to reimbursement isn’t clear” for healthcare providers like us.
It’s time. NY must #CanceltheCarveOut and compromise! https://t.co/hBKUzYUDsV
Our paper on sex and species differences in poison frog spatial behavior is now out in @eLife! Over 300 days in the rainforest watching over 300 frogs in the rain with a team of the most dedicated frog scientists! Read more at https://t.co/88hJ3LjKYC

Today, a man fell through my room’s ceiling in my $1500 a month Stanford housing apartment. Stanford refuses to respond for physical and emotional damages. Two thoughts:
1. This is why we need a union
2. This is not what I meant when I sang “It’s raining men, Hallelujah!” 😭😭😭
