Steve, if the opinion of a Thomist means anything, you are ABSOLUTELY correct in this “definitions debate.” Terms may have some plasticity, but we can not choose to re-define terms outside their semantic range or their precise definition within a particular field.

@paulogia0 That’s easy, the Bible teaches an old creation. The Hebrew text is very clear that the narrative begins in Gen 1:3 with the earth already orbiting the sun covered with a global ocean and darkness (thick cloud covering). And I should add, perfectly inline with modern science.

@onnlucky @RTB_HRoss @RTB_official Are you sure it was Hugh Ross? I know of nothing in his writings that would ever ”make one an atheist.” His books deal with how modern science and the Bible are not at odds. But, if you don't like Relativity and String Theory, then maybe- LOL

@Lead1225 I get the argument, but there must be more to it than ‘free will’ and ‘love.’ Evil is too disproportionately distributed and apportioned to be simply a matter of free-will.
