@BritishHodl I don't disagree. However, if you got in prior to the evolution that includes ETF options, converting self-storage to EFT's is not an option. Additionally, there isn't currently a better way to protect yourself from third party risk. One-size-fits all doesn't exist.
@Christianj_016@PawnOn7thRank@dotkrueger In the Fidelity Digital Assets scenario are customer digital assets are held for the benefit of customers and are not assets of Fidelity Digital Assets? In other words, if Fidelity Digital Assets entered bankruptcy tomorrow, whose property is the BTC?
@Christianj_016@dotkrueger Do you mean convert to Fidelity ETF? If so, taxable event. If you mean Fidelity crypto custodial cryptocurrency account, you cannot deposit Bitcoin from an external wallet. It is a closed ecosystem.
Any remaining faith I had in our institutions is gone.
The Epstein files were the final straw for me.
For years, I’ve tried to give the system the benefit of the doubt. Assume incompetence over malice. Assume there are things happening behind the scenes. Assume eventually the truth comes out.
Cope.
At some point you have to stop lying to yourself.
When the most powerful people on earth are connected to something this dark, and the result is sealed documents, redactions, quiet settlements, and zero real accountability, you start to see the pattern.
There’s a system for regular people, and there’s a different system for the elite.
We have seen it with monetary and economic policy. Now we see it is systemic.
This isn’t about left vs. right. It’s not partisan for me. Corruption protects itself. Power protects power. That’s the constant.
And when that realization sets in, you have a choice.
You can scream about it. You can argue online. You can hope the next election fixes it.
Or you can quietly opt out where you can.
For me, that’s Bitcoin.
Not because it’s some utopia or because it fixes evil. But because it doesn’t require me to trust the same institutions that have repeatedly shown they don’t operate by the same rules for everyone.
No special access.
No closed-door monetary policy.
No selective bailouts.
Just open code and rules that apply to everyone.
Maybe that sounds dramatic. But I don’t see it as rebellion. I see it as self-preservation.
When trust erodes, capital moves. It always has.
Some people exit geographically.
Some exit socially.
Some mentally check out.
I’m exiting financially.
You don’t need to agree. But if you’ve felt that shift lately – that quiet realization that the people in charge aren’t playing the same game as the rest of us – you’re not alone.
For me, Bitcoin isn’t about getting rich.
It’s about no longer asking permission.
This is happening because corrupt governments de-monetized silver over the past 150 years to make room for trash fiat.
The bankers then manipulated down the price to make it possible to run a casino based on imaginary silver that doesn’t exist, and to manufacture electronics with an artificially low cost basis.
The price manipulation has robbed investors and miners, and prevented the expansion of silver mines that could have met today’s industrial demand.
The people are finally demanding their money back. Welcome to The Great Awakening
“We give universities up to $200B a year for research, they keep the patents — taxpayers get nothing. Biden gave Intel $11B for nothing. Trump says: give America $11B in equity. Doesn’t that make sense?” — Sec. @howardlutnick
@iluminatibot Higher Education has to be in the top 3. Endowments that are never spent, tuitions that are too high, taxpayer funded federal grants to produce desired results, and no taxes. Universities are just hedge funds.
The last time #BTC was at $50,000:
- >50% of supply held by lettuce hands
- Terra/Luna running ponzi
- FTX selling paper BTC
- GBTC premium buyers getting rekt
- Precipice of fastest rate hike in history
- Super Bowl "crypto" ads
#BTC at $50,000 today:
- 70% of supply held by diamond hands
- Passive Wall Street bid
- 9 weeks away from halving
- Rate cuts coming later this year
- No Super Bowl ads
The noise is quite.
The fluff is gone.
No we ride.
Two ways to express power: voice and exit. When voice is no longer sufficient, you have one option: exit.
For the first time in human history, we have an alternative financial system fixed in supply, accessible to all, and controlled by no one.
Exit fiat. Long live #Bitcoin
JACK MALLERS: "What do I think about Jeffrey Epstein's banker being concerned that a distributed decentralized open public money could be used for bad things sitting on a ski resort in Davos?
I don't really care" 😎
@dotkrueger Agree generally. To your second bullet point…Expecting Trad FI advisors to tell a good BTC story in the short term (or even long term) is like expecting a western medical doctor to prescribe natural remedies. They are too stuck in what was taught them. This is a heavy headwind.
