Ravenala madagascariensis, aka Traveler's Tree from Madagascar. It’s named this bc the base of the leaves hold rainwater which can be used as an emergency water supply for travelers - & the fans usually grow on an east to west line which can be used as a crude compass.

When you walk into our Desert House, you can find this magical plant. Its name is Crested Euphorbia and it’s native to India. Did you know you can grow this as a house plant? Anyone have one? The scientific name is Euphorbia lactea cristata 'Variegata'. (1/2)
