@JackPittBrooke It seems like we may finally have two good wingbacks (Porro, Udogie) but there’s a strong likelihood the next manager won’t play 5 at the back. Do you think those 2 can play in a back 4?
@FootballCliches There was a bit in the Lee v Che game where a chelsea player (can’t remember who) had a shot that went into the stomach of his own player and they said ‘that sums up their afternoon’, but then Koulibaly got sent off and they said ‘that sums it up even more’.
@FootballCliches You know how Neville loves to say ‘at this moment in time’? I heard Scott Parker build on it with ‘at this present moment in time’. Is there any longer/more footbally way of saying ‘now’?
@FootballCliches Micah Richards yesterday said that Everton need a ‘vocal point’. I don’t think it’s the first time he’s said it. Could this be a new role for someone who plays up front but is also loud?
@FootballCliches When commentators say ‘someone needs to grab the game by the scruff of the neck’.
Who do you think is the most grab-the-game-by-the-scruff-of-the-neck-y player of all time?
(I think Gerrard)
@FootballCliches Maybe a week late for this, but if a manager is sacked after serving only 1 game of a 3-game touchline suspension, would they have to start the first game in a new job from the stands (assuming they get a job)? Barnet’s textbook statement reminded me:
