kids need to hear you defend them btw. when you see someone wronging them, don’t save it for a “grown folk’s conversation,” step in and say “you are not being fair to this child.” that’s critical for their self-esteem. many kids have never been shown that they’re worth defending.

The real problem with the teacher/classroom discussions is so many ppl have such arrested development.

Yall are 9th graders mentally and spiritually so you react to teachers and class rules like an angsty hormonal teen instead of the grown adult that you are 😭

Equal in dignity and worth yes, but not equals in responsibility and (moral) accountability. We’re the adults, they are children. There’s still a necessary distinction between the two and we must be careful not to erase it. It’s in both parties’ interests that it remains defined.
