STORY TIME: This weekend I am a Blessed Nana!

I took my car to @autozone last night to get my battery replaced. I asked the manager at the counter if they had the ability to swap the battery because VW’s are difficult. She said they could, no problem.

For 3 hours they were unsuccessful in replacing the battery and couldn’t even get my car to start with the old battery or the new battery. I waited while they got nowhere and provided no potential solutions.

I called my wife and told her at 10:15 that she’s gonna have to wake the kids up and come pick me up from AutoZone because my car is basically dead.

When I walked back over to my car after finishing my phone call they were giving it one last try. Finally, they were able to get it started. I asked them what happened and they pathetically shared with me that for three hours they did not realize they were putting the batteries on backwards.

I walked away to call my wife and tell her that she didn’t have to come and get me because they got the car started. I get in the car to leave and realize I have zero power steering, zero AC/Heat and every possible error message that Volkswagens can give you was popping up. Walked in to tell them I’d be back tomorrow but they’d already turned off the lights and I guess they were in the back.

I started over with them this morning for another three hours. They were unsuccessful in helping me and it certainly seems like they have fried the electric/computer system in my vehicle by incorrectly trying to connect my battery for 3 hours.

It’s being towed to the dealership, so this weekend. I am a Blessed Nana. Thx to my grandma in-law for letting me ride in style while I wait and see if AutoZone has ruined my vehicle.
