I guess in the case of motor actions like moving your arm, inference gets dumped into the central nervous system.

One of my biggest fears is that we as a civilization never get our shit together and run out of fossil fuels before we can actually produce and deploy enough of the other types and then just get stuck at 1850 tech levels forever.

In the ‘AI kills everyone’ future, an AI need to be smart enough to make even smarter AI and also have a self-preservation instinct. If so, wouldn’t the AI foresee the takeoff (bc it’s so smart) but also fear being replaced by its own offspring, and just… stop making smarter AI?
