@IAnsonC @afPE_PE We do both… a ‘traditional’ competitive Sports Day with spectators competing for houses with house cup etc. Month later we deliver a Sports Festival non-competitive, no spectators, only personal scores and scores not recorded. Different children enjoy aspects of each day.

Grassroots, if you pay your child for scoring goals; a reward apparently. Do you pay them for defending? Tackles won? Assists created? Unlikely! This does not aid learning it creates a player focused on one aspect of playing and neglects their overall player development. 🤔
