@realersquigga @JJFromTheBronx But this National ID isnt just for voting. It proves you are a citizen. Allows domestic flights, firearms purchases. More secure than an SSN. The number on it is required to file taxes, receive govt benefits.
You get a free National ID at birth, or when you become a citizen.

Use that cost, with no discounts for economies of scale, and it is $3.2 billion for citizen in the US to get a National ID. But, only around 3 million people are born per year in the US. So, 30 million a year. Pocket change.

@realersquigga @JJFromTheBronx Issue it to them at school. K-12, you get your ID directly from school. Your 18 year old ID expires after three years. Every, Post Office, Library, Fed Building can have ID offices. Have Pop-up clinics. Its also easier to get a free/cheap ride if the ID is free.

@realersquigga @JJFromTheBronx 18 year olds in NYC. MTA Cards are provided by the school. Homeless population. Tribal communities (Tribal IDs are not Real IDs, not able to be used to vote). Some in Rural communities.
Provide the IDs for free, make it more secure than an SSN. National ID, easy Voter ID.

The problem is that CT owns a lot of track in CT, and they don't maintain it. At all. They also refuse to spend the money to separate the grade crossings, or straighten out the tracks. CT is blocking it all.

@Ericrse37986 As someone who used to live in this district, absolutely. Should be someone preferably of Portuguese descent. Big problem is that Boston DSA doesnt even claim this area (they absolutely should BTW!) Also, it is one of the more republican parts of the state.

At the @pghDSA New Member Orientation today, there was a new member that marched with Dr. King, and has been in revolutionary organizing for over 60 years. Was incredible to see our forebears coming in to offer guidance, and get involved in this pivotal moment.
