Lost in the conversation of expanded CFL 'playoffs' in 2027 is the fact that it's not really a playoff round. I realize the league is going to market it as such, but in reality, I see a 19th regular season game. One in which the league has stacked the deck to ensure entertainment
@RichieLeone15@egawdalmighty There's still massive incentive to finish top 2. That bye is still huge and as you know, home field may be bigger in football than any other sport. Finishing 5 or 6 vs 7 or 8 means at least one more chance to strap it up in front of the home fans!
@JonathanClink Not a huge NBA guy, but I figure that's where the idea stems. The distinction between playoff and playin will be argued to death on this app over the next year. I agree, the solution is always more CFL franchises. We can discuss financials later, but my vote is London, Ontario!
@JoshThomasRepEX@CFLisFun Agree to disagree, how can it be a playoff if 2 of the 4 games are not do or die? Really it's following the NBA's 'play in' model. Not quite a playoff, but not quite a regular season game either.
those games as well. The "8/9 teams making the playoffs is goofy" argument is valid, until you see this for what it is, a final regular season game in which the narratives are already written.
Do you think that late season games between the top 2 seeds battling for a bye is exciting? Good, in 2027 the CFL will now have 2 of those games guaranteed. Do you think that win and you're in games between middle to bottom teams can be interesting? Also good, there will be 2 of
@LWillson_82@AtomicSh0cker@TSNScianitti@CFLonTSN 🤦♂️ that was a bone head move. Does Twitter allow edits on tweets? I agree, those are all things that the league should work towards. We should talk more about them when we put in our bid for the London franchise.
@LWillson_82@AtomicSh0cker@TSNScianitti@CFLonTSN Appologies if it came off condescending. I have nothing but respect for someone who played at the highest level and love what you are doing back in London. X is of course the platform where all communication seems confrontational.What are your solutions to these issues you poise?
@LWillson_82@AtomicSh0cker@TSNScianitti@CFLonTSN (exciting in my book).
I hope you enjoyed this lengthy tweet and I hope that while you may not agree with the rules, you use them to your advantage in your quest for the OSFL title!
@LWillson_82@AtomicSh0cker@TSNScianitti@CFLonTSN more than one score? No problem! The offence (theoretically winning) is forced to attempt to gain first downs to bleed the clock. In essence, the game doesn't care how much you are up, you have to keep playing until the final whistle. The rules are built for large comeback wins
