@DURITZ79@CitywireSA@SongezoZibi To protect member benefits. Rather outsource the GEPF assets to the very capable private asset management industry.
Place member interests before flawed ideaology for once
@mark_barnes56@BDliveSA For the PIC to work and protect member savings. They need to abandon voodoo politics and employ on merit. You need the correct skillts to invest in markets not idealogy. Markets dont care for idealogy.
But whats the odds of this happening?
@LuGuy20 We cant even run Koeberg properly. See the recent reports of radiation poisoning occurring at Koeberg. Building more nuclear will literally be like giving a child a nuclear bomb to play with.
Madness
@madaboutmarkets@fincoachsa The question really is. We know about the 40% unlisted that has gone bad. Who knows what the real number is?
Given whats going on. How can we believe any numbers quoted?
@NWoodeSmith South Africa’s economy was originally built around affordable labour and electricity.
Now we have neither. So take the two main pillars away and you end up where we are currently.
High living costs and import intensity is the price we pay for the transition.
@LLB_hard82389 Rich coming from the DA that voted FOR employment equity in parliament in 2014.
Leapard cant change its spots.
I will believe it when the DA announces a motion to repeal EE legislation in parliament.
@mark_barnes56 The current saga at the PIC is a textbook example. When flawed ideology meets the fire test of financial markets.
Markets don’t care for your idealogy, it only cares if you can make accurate valuation calls.
Pensioners are going to suffer here for this flawed strategy
Madness
@Paratus2014 When voodoo economic idealogy meets the fire test of markets. The outcome is inevitable.
Markets dont care for your idealogy. (BEE,EE,EWC etc) It only cares if you can make the correct valuation calls.
Pensioners are the real victims here.
@Jonathan_Witt You are correct on nuclear. But NOT in the incompetent hands of Eskom or Govt.
See the current radiation poisoning happening at Koeberg as evidence. This is just tip of the iceberg. Continue on this path and is Chernobyl 2.0 for Cape Town
@AardvarkBloody I feel sorry for the members. They are going to retire with very little after contributing for decades if the PIC continues on this path. PIC needs to do an Eskom or privatise to protect member contributions or nothing will be left in a few years.
@markmywords@GovernmentZA It should become policy. If you get suspended for suspicious behavior your benefits get reduced by 50%. There should be a strong incentive not to be suspended.
Otherwise whats the point?
@ashtonshudson More interesting. How many times should an item be taxed through VAT?
Prime example. Homes and cars.
Principle should be an item can only be taxed ONCE over its lifetime.
@AardvarkBloody Interesting how the lesser evil crowd are actually working hand in glove with the prime evil. You either a force for good or part of prime evil. There is no such thing as a lesser thief.
@PositivelyNot Pure Sarb arrogance. When the other major banks wanted to buy Abil from the Sarb and manage it on commercial terms. The Sarb became arrogant and wanted an insane price for their stake in Abil.
Now this. Now its the taxpayer holding the can for Sarb arrogance.
Voodoo policy
@wayneduv Nothing will change in these failed munis if you dont start by holding people personally responsible for waistful expenditure and service delivery failure in their respective portfolios.
@KwazaUnathi Even worse. Delay of prudent investment decisions happen due to the reality of triggering CGT.
Investment decisions need to be made on the merits of he decision not the fact that CGT may be triggered.
