In southern Spain 70–75% of homes already have AC. In the north (Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria) it’s 1–2%, because summers are mild and houses are built for it.

That 175,000 death stat you’re parroting isn’t ‘Europeans.’ It’s what the WHO considers as European Region, which lumps in Russia, Central Asia, Turkey, Israel. 53 countries, half of them not even Europe.

What’s actually insane is an American blogger lecturing Europeans on their own climates and energy grids without the faintest clue what he’s talking about.
