Yesterday the Telegraph reported on my comments about air conditioning.
The comment section is quite something. I have apparently become a hero of the anti net zero crowd by saying something what I think is sensible about air con.
Allow me to point out three ironies in this 🧵
@NetZeroWatch Interesting to see you championing me. Air conditioners are heat pumps, the technology you've spent years telling everyone doesn't work. Glad you came round eventually! https://t.co/4jog4qiNo1
Nonsense. I served with him as an MP and there was never a time when Andy was thought of anything other than a very competent minister. He had a relatively low profile at the 2010 election (compared with the soap opera of the Milibands) and in 2015 he started out as the favourite.
John Stones looks like a self-employed electrician who's lost half a days pay to watch his chid play ukulele for 5 minutes in the school concert, and now has to watch other people's kids perform for 2 hours.
I do find the condescension towards Burnham from much of the British political establishment both striking and funny. He’s actually one of the most experienced incoming PMs we’ve had, about which much is known. You’d think all he’d ever done was run a parish council.
Tax’s final boss @DanNeidle nails @garyseconomics here.
Dan is probably the last man in Britain you’d want to have an argument about tax with, what he doesn’t know fits on the back of a grain of rice 🤣
the worst part about this whole thing is the gaslighting, like this wasn’t a clear red, therefore an injustice corrected. this is one of the clearest red cards i’ve ever seen, balogun almost breaks his opponent’s ankle. https://t.co/WX9THOpYmY
BREAKING 🚨🚨🚨
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has held talks with Donald Trump over the possibility of the US being given a 1 goal head start in their World Cup tie against Belgium as a “gesture of goodwill.”
The wildest petition I’ve ever seen
Increasing the state pension to £31,000 a year and paying it from age 60 would add about £200 billion a year to the cost 🤯
To give you an idea of how British politics has degraded into deranged radical-right lunacy, just consider what the public reaction would have been had a politician in the 60s or 70s proposed the following:
