Today we share the sad news of one of our oldest and well-respected players. YellerCukes passed away Sunday at the age of 83. Since 2013 he made his mark on QONQR. 947 captures, 1091 leads, and 197 million bots on the map. Photo from his 75th birthday. https://t.co/4qBfcoYQas
THAT Conference is the best conference and tech community I've ever been involved with. If you are looking for a warm weather January conference that welcomes your family too, please check it out!
@elonmusk Apple refunds payments to users that claim they never got what they bought. Never notifies the app developer, no way to find out if the user stole what they purchased, no way to pull the item back. No recourse, just theft. 4of4
@elonmusk It is impossible to reconcile Apple in-app purchases against end-of-month payouts. Image selling thousands of Teslas every month, but having no way to know if the money that hit your bank account each month matched the number of @Tesla vehicles you sold. 3of4
@elonmusk It is impossible to verify an Apple receipt a user sends to app support is real. Users can claim they didn’t receive their purchase. There is no way to lookup the transaction number. Apple sends user a different transaction number than they send the app developer. 2of4
@elonmusk Apple forces you to cancel and re-start subscriptions when you get a new iPhone. The new phone can’t see the subscription, despite continuing to charge users. Users don’t understand this. Huge support nightmare. This resets Apple’s 15% after 12 months back to 30%. 1of4
App Security in #dotnetmaui ? @JamesMontemagno@davidortinau do you have a blog or video? How do I stop Android hackers from ripping apart my APK and building a clone to modify and bypass business rules or automate api calls in my app? Any advice for developers on protecting IP?
Hey @SPIREcu your website gives the great advice to never share your bank account login info. But to register my non-profit with your @netgiverapp I need to give you my bank username and password, which is then stored by @Plaid. This is a bad. Very bad. https://t.co/itYo1gCAON
@ArizonaJim4 Hi Jim, sorry for late response, just saw this now. The number 1 killer of performance on mobile is IoC frameworks. Hundreds of objects created on startup. Objects created deep deep in your class nesting for classes that often are never executed before it is garbage collected.
@davidortinau I've spent days looking, sorry to bug you directly. I need to package a 3rd party DEXT for Xamarin MacOS. Does Xamarin Mac support bundling driver extensions for controlling UBS devices? I can't find any documentation or samples for 3rd party DEXT.
@_HealthPartners stop telling people to allow access to contacts for Google Duo. Huge privacy issue. All your contacts are uploaded to Google Servers. Plus when a friend signs up for Duo, you are notified, which probably means they are doing so for COVID. https://t.co/22f9NWb3pY
Scott will cover the difficult lessons @QONQR developers learned so you can avoid the same issues. Learn how to avoid replay attacks, how to “hide” verification tokens in your API traffic, and why depending on SSL to protect your traffic from the end user is a terrible idea.
Hey @Stratasys and @dunwoodycollege, a small design change to your face shield makes it possible to secure the shield from falling off. My shields created with a 3-hole punch keep falling off without this change. https://t.co/jrafeZ98jP
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about not being a computer programmer anymore. The problem is, that’s the only career and skills that I have. I’m just not doing well at it anymore. This really makes me sad to admit.
