@JudgeMinor CLEAR is a very interesting topic. During the @StateCourts Fall Events, a session was held on CLEAR. I was able to share with the Chief Justices and State Court Administrators about Alabama’s Harvesters of Hope program and its work of bringing lawyers to legal deserts.
Hey @USPS, can you help with Montgomery’s civic pride by cutting the grass & trimming the shrubbery around the Downtown Montgomery Post Office at 135 Catoma Street? The hardworking, dedicated postal employees there deserve better surroundings!
@BrettBusby For over 40 years, one of the nation’s best appellate clerks, Sherry Williamson, served the 11th. She came out of retirement to serve as clerk of the 10th. Her daughter Deana is Clerk of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals—the nation’s first mother-daughter appellate clerk duo!
Act-2025-427 has been enacted which changes appellate practice re: expungements. Effective Oct. 1, the proper avenue to challenge a ruling on an expungement petition will be to file a notice of appeal instead of a petition for a writ of certiorari.

@realcountry1953 I grew up not far from McWilliams, Alabama. This sign used to greet people as they entered the community. It was within eyesight of the home of Hank’s father and stepmother, Lon and Ola Williams. Hank spent his early childhood in McWillaims before Lon and Lillie divorced.
@LifeWithoutLack@BarExamTutor 100% for first-time examinees (3/3); 60% for total examinees (6/10).
Here is the breakdown of statistics for the February Alabama Bar Exam: https://t.co/sMITszdMXj
@BarExamTutor 175 of the examinees are graduates of two unaccredited law schools in Alabama. One of those schools, Miles Law School, had a 0.0% passage rate.
Last month, NCSC hosted the Assembly of Associations, which was attended by top leaders representing nine independent court and judicial organizations.
These leaders met with NCSC association management staff to discuss common interests and future opportunities.

On November 22, 1963, three shots were fired in Dallas. The horrific images are still vivid. I was a 31-year-old unknown Secret Service agent, suddenly thrust into history. At 92, I have come to terms with my place in history. I tried. I was unsuccessful, but at least I tried.
It was an honor to represent my fellow appellate clerks at the NCSC Data Specialists’ Roundtable. It was a wonderful experience learning how we can better use and report our data.
Recently, NCSC hosted the 18th Annual Data Specialists' Roundtable, bringing together court data professionals from 24 states and territories to address challenges in #data governance, dashboard design, and #AI solutions.

@JudgeDillard@SupremeCourtGA@AppealsCourtGA One state I know of has the justices go to the classrooms the day of the oral arguments (which is held in the evening) to explain the case. And the next morning they host a breakfast for business and civil leaders in the community as a form of outreach.

This rule change is in line with the recommendations contained in the 2017 ABA Council of Appellate Lawyers white paper on e-briefing. Not only does the change make briefing easier for the practitioners, it makes finding pages in the digital brief easier for the Courts.
Only Arabic numerals will be required in briefs and pleadings before Alabama’s appellate courts beginning October 1. The days of having to figure out how to use both Roman and Arabic numeral pagination will soon be over. #appellatetwitter#lawtwitter
