@JonathanDunnett @girdley Because you can’t build a political party from the top down. Has to be bottom (city council, school board and state leg) up.

@girdley The problem is we have a system that d/n require 50%+1 to win so a centrist party runs and gets 34%, most congressional districts are gerrymandered enough that one party or another has a floor above 35%. Third parties just lower the win number for the ruling party.
