Brazilian Thalita do Valle was 39 when she travelled from Brazil to Ukraine in 2022.

This awesome woman was a trained rescuer, an animal-rights activist and a woman who had already risked her life helping others.

A former model, she joined Ukraine’s International Legion as a sniper and also served as a medic.

On June 30, 2022, a Russian bombardment struck the building where her unit was staying near Kharkiv. Thalita lost her life💔

She crossed borders to help people she had never met, choosing to stand beside those in danger.

У центрі ударів лишається траса R-280 — так званий «сухопутний коридор» до Криму. Більшість вантажівок по цій трасі їдуть під охороною, колонами. Зазвичай у колоні 3–5 вантажівок і 2–3 машини ППО.

Попри численні заяви, українська кампанія ударів середньої дальності не зупинилася і не сповільнилася.

⚠️ Russia is preparing a new information operation around occupied Oleshky.

The context matters.
Oleshky, in the occupied part of Kherson region, has been under Russian control since 2022. Around 2,000 civilians, including roughly 50 children, remain there amid severe shortages of food, water and electricity, according to Ukrainian officials. Russia has prevented civilians from leaving, while Ukraine has been using heavy drones to deliver food and medicine across the front line — including nearly 400 aid packages, around four tonnes, in one recent mission.

Now Ukraine’s Security Service warns that Russia is preparing an information operation around the city.

According to the SBU, Russian troops have been ordered to produce a series of staged “interviews” with residents of occupied Oleshky. The intended messages are predictable:

— blame Ukraine’s Defense Forces for shelling and “blockading” the city
— attack Ukraine’s military and political leadership
— portray Russian occupation forces as helping local civilians

The campaign is expected in October and early November.

So if videos suddenly appear showing residents of occupied Oleshky delivering remarkably similar accusations against Ukraine, check the source before amplifying them.

Occupation creates more than control over territory. It also gives Russia control over the environment in which such “testimonies” are recorded.

Expect the information operation. Verify before sharing.

Russia is imposing militarised education on Ukrainian children who remain under occupation.

Oleksandra Dvoretska, Head of Policy at Bring Kids Back UA, explained to @HromRadio_eng how Russian state-funded organisations presented as NGOs help sustain this system.

Countering Russification, indoctrination and militarisation is a cross-cutting priority of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children’s 2026-2027 agenda, finalised in Toronto.

At Pathways to Peace, co-hosted by Ukraine, Canada and Norway, 54 states and international organisations endorsed the Joint Communiqué, including the Toronto Pledge.

The response must combine protection for children under Russian control, stronger tracing, expanded safe return pathways and lasting support after they come home.

Targeted sanctions must work alongside criminal investigations and efforts to hold those responsible accountable.

We must sustain this international effort so that Ukrainian children can return home, preserve their identity and rebuild their lives in safety.
