A little data nugget.
Spurs' (minutes weighted) average age dropped from 27.87 in 2022-23 to 25.53 last season, the biggest such drop in our Premier League database (2015-16 onwards)
Manchester City 2016-17 to 2017-18, the only other drop of at least two years season-on-season
For @StatsBomb, I had a look at line-breaking pass to progressive action chains in the Bundesliga, focusing on last season's top three:
Bayer Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart and Bayern Munich

Coaches love to talk about space, so let's look at where teams allowed it in the Euros. The sample size isn't ideal, but you can start to see which teams we're happy for the opposition to have it near their own goal versus those that weren't.
@MartinRafelt@StatsBomb Second clue is that dribbles with an opposition pressure event directly before the dribble are completed at a higher rate. I think it boils down to it being easier to dribble past a defender who is rushing towards you rather than one who is jockeying you.
@MartinRafelt@StatsBomb We don't tag dribbles directly so we're relying on proxies for each type. First clue is that the players with the highest dribble completion rates are CBs and DMs and they only really dribble evasively. You can just watch the video for this one to confirm it.
@MartinRafelt@StatsBomb So we also thought this might be the case but then when we looked at the data it seems evasive dribbles (type B) are completed at a higher rate than proactive dribbles (A) so we're still not sure.
We are delighted to announce our latest partnership with Coventry City 🔵⚪

@amol_desai@ECB_cricket Site has improved a lot over the last few years with how you can explore the data. That said there's been nothing stopping anyone scraping the site over the last 10 years and spinning up a better version for exploring the data on top of it (if you've got the skills).
@amol_desai@ECB_cricket No idea what ECB do with the data. Not much would be my guess but they're playing catch up with it. Play Cricket has been a trove of amateur data for years. Virtually my entire amateur career from u13 onwards is on there and that will be the same for most my age.
