@drinkmarkt It is these people we need to humanize most. I feel like too many people say “I could never do that” to themselves and choose to just watch others. It’s sad when we’re talking about artists etc but bad for society when we’re talking about civil rights leaders. Know what I mean?
@drinkmarkt Deifying people is equally if not more problematic imo. Humanizing those we idolize makes us realize that their achievements are not just reserved for the gods. All of our heroes were just normal people, who did extraordinary things, and sometimes it’s important to remember that
@HowieRose It’s like anything else. If you don’t know what you’re looking at it’s probably gonna seem boring. However, If you have a friend who can explain, a genuine curiosity, and an open mind about enjoying it, you could also learn to appreciate the most popular sport in the world
The threat of a yellow card doesn’t stop players diving, fouling or abusing referees but it has stopped them showing solidarity with those who are threatened with death for being in love. What an absolute fucking farce.
