Elated to leap into the @APSphysics Fellowship class of 2023! With a bow and boundless thanks to those those who taught and inspired my generation, and a booming "ahoy!" to the next generation ready to set their own sails.
I'm honored to be elected among such an inspiring group of scientists to the class of 2023 @APSphysics Fellowship https://t.co/9u7RPoKPxF. Congratulations to my fellow quantum classmates: Adolfo del Campo, Sophia Economou, Jonathan Home, Jens Koch, Xiongfeng Ma, Graeme Smith!

Apply now to USQIS, the 1st US Quantum Information Science Summer School (Aug 6-15, 2023 @Fermilab). Develop expertise & hands-on skills in quantum research! This DOE-funded school is a joint project of C2QA, QSA, QSC, QNEXT, & SQMS. Read on & apply here: https://t.co/KG1jGXMjKn
Admin mantra for a content evening— Complications? … Complications are only the intricate wrinkles that life throws, so that circles aren’t so boring. (Inspired by a chat with @vatsanchakram .)
@olexandr Best regards to the friend: pharmaceutical startups occasionally fail for outrageous reasons, but more often for mundane ones. Nonetheless, there are amazing innovations in the pharmaceutical industry. Quantum might get there, too, in time.
@GrassellinoSRF@sqmscenter@Fermilab@schusterqed One thing the photos don’t capture fully: the side and back of the room were crammed with FNAL SQMS scientists supporting Anna. Thanks to all of you as well!
Down memory lane: a slide I made as a PhD student with Felix von Oppen. The topic: molecular electronics. One of its founding fathers: Mark Ratner, Northwestern Chemistry. Northwestern Physics: my academic home for 12 years now. So grateful for all that Felix von Oppen taught me.
Northwestern has an opening for a theorist working on condensed matter / quantum information science (assistant or associate professor rank). Come join us! Details here: https://t.co/1YQatpw962
One of my favorite moments today: Angela Kou, Bill Fefferman, Luigi Frunzio, Yoni Kahn and Kasra Nowrouzi on a panel moderated by Eleanor Rieffel - day 1 at the 2022 SQMS annual meeting! @sqmscenter
Thanks to @nanonoodle Andrew Houck, our fearless C2QA Director, (as well as all involved!) for making the past two days a productive, well-planned and fun annual meeting! Glad to be part of @C2QAdvantage!
Congratulations to Anna Grassellino for receiving the 2023 New Horizons in Physics BREAKTHROUGH Prize. For the discovery of major performance enhancements to niobium superconducting radio….. https://t.co/9cgp7jBjIu
@orionfigen@zlatko_minev@christian That sounds great! Then that must even cover offset charge dependence of spectra for zero-pi and the Cooper pair box (charging regime)! How did you do it?
@d_k_weiss passed his thesis defense today - congratulations, Dr. Weiss! Danny has done fantastic work, and been the source of deep insight, generous kindness, and the most infectious laughter. Buckle in for his next career chapter working with @ShrutiPuri11 & Steve Girvin!
