In May 2018, Palestinians in Gaza organized a peaceful protest “March of Return” in order to break the illegal siege of Gaza. The IDF responded by brutal killing of civilians. Israeli snipers were targeting the peaceful protesters killing children, paramedics, women, amputees and civilian men. The IDF spokesperson tweeted on May 22, 2018:

“The mask has been pulled off : Hamas is Iran, Iran is Hamas! The terror along the security fence is an Iranian mission”

Norman Finkelstein responded to the above tweet by a post with the title:

There is an attempt to portray Ben-Gvir and his treatment of the activists as the entire issue, as if it were an individual act.

It must be emphasized that this matter is connected to full-scale state terrorism practiced by an occupying power and its army.

It begins with genocide, the blockade, maritime piracy, the hijacking of ships, firing at participants, the use of skunk water cannons, deliberate ramming, beatings, and other violations.

The attached video shows Israeli army forces opening fire on activists in the flotilla.
