Quality of life, poor infrastructure & endless bureaucracy are already driving India’s top earners out. Expecting Silicon Valley returnees to thrive here is too optimistic. Unless India cleans up, the real winners will be remote jobs in UAE & Southeast Asia.
I just finished a short trip to Stockholm, and it left me with a sinking feeling about how under invested our cities are in public transport.
Here is what I saw

This statement from Nitin Gadkari gave me a sense of déjà vu so I did a quick key word search and in 30 seconds found these from 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025.
Gadkari ji, 2-3 saal khatam hi nahi ho rahe hai 😭
PCMC Road after the first rains, a glimpse of our efforts to make all roads in our city truly citizen-centric. It’s heartening to see our healthy streets not only function efficiently for pedestrians and cyclists but also add to the aesthetic beauty of monsoons and become an important driving force for active mobility.
Our commitment is to create streets where people come first, whether it’s the daily commuter, the senior citizen on a leisurely stroll or a child cycling to school. Thoughtful design features like shade, sit-outs, appropriate materials, and managed parking ensure that every pedestrian can navigate safely and comfortably, even in the rains.
This is a small but meaningful step towards our vision of streets that are not just roads for vehicles but public spaces that belong to everyone. Let’s keep working together to build streets that truly work for citizens, every season.

German elections just concluded mins ago. Final results are not even official yet and all party leaders are sitting together and are bombarded by tough questions from the media.
Can we even imagine this after an election in India?
A citizens' group 'Save Our Coast Mumbai' has launched a petition to advocate for the creation of a much-needed green lung for the city, asserting that such a development could improve Mumbai's AQI by 50-100 points. Please support it. Spread the word.

A smart city is not measured by the amount of shiny gadgets, its data gathering novelties or its latest mobility innovations.
Instead, your city is smart when you see children cycling there autonomously, joyfully and free.

Here is an old footage of Mumbai's tram system in service.
It dates back to the year 1964.
Even today, remnants of tram tracks are frequently uncovered during routine excavations in the city.
It is time to bring them back. 🚊
