I can’t express how devastating it is & how hopeless you feel when a healthcare professional asks you to consider - after 2.5 yrs of trying to get a diagnosis for a gynaecological condition - whether it could be in your head. When will women be listened to about their own bodies.
And not just listened to but be acknowledged and taken seriously, not just about the physical issue, because that’s bad enough in itself, but the emotional and mental stress that forms such a massive part of it.
@jamiesmart Very silly indeed! The 3 days isn’t quite as bad as it sounds. I can still do stuff, just feel pretty rubbish. I used to get really bad ones in my teens, loss of vision, numbness down my left side and vomiting so just grateful these aren’t like that. Hope yours get better soon!
@SamRaises I also try and plan in some nice things/self-care during the weekend to at least calm the distraction/disruption that work thoughts can create. Doesn’t have to be anything extravagant, eg watch an episode of fave tv show, go for a walk, fuss the cat etc.
@KarenLNHollis Loving the replies! Crushed paracetamol on a tsp of milk 🤢 & a hot toddy (whisky, lemonade, honey, lemon) no matter your age. Occasionally when I was poorly I’d get to stay with my great-aunt & she’d buy me a full size Sara Lee gateaux and let me play Bamboozle on teletext.
Can anyone recommend a physiotherapist for a long-term ankle injury (possibly bursitis or tendonitis) in Canton/Pontcanna/Llandaff area? 🙏 #physio#recommendation#cardiff
