Our userbase has requested an official statement from us regarding the LayerZero situation

Being called a 'Sybil Tool' by @LayerZero_Labs and potentially excluding our community from the $ZRO Airdrop is disheartening.

We are the second most-used dApp within the ecosystem and have contributed over 23.8 million messages to LayerZero. Even after the snapshot has already taken place, our dApp still has the #3 highest 24-h volume, indicating product-market fit.

Our LZ-Refuel is the most comprehensive on the market, powering 55 Chains, solving real needs:

- Circumventing CEX withdrawals (fully on-chain)
- Allowing users to obtain Gas on almost any chain on Day-1, making it easy to explore new, resident dApps
- Solving liquidity fragmentation: everything is accessible in a unified interface
- Hyperflexible Refuel Pairs (ETH → KLAY, MATIC → CANTO)

In some cases, the max amount a user can refuel is limited by LayerZero. Therefore we integrated a 'repeat' function. This is because the gas provided by a single refuel often isn't enough to complete a swap transaction on the destination chain.

Refueling from Optimism → Core = 0.25 $CORE limit

The main issue, according to LayerZero, appears to originate from our ONFT bridge, as no value assets get transferred between chains.

Context:
It's not a ''real'' NFT collection because it has no max supply and doesn't display an imagine on the frontend (although it does on NFT Marketplaces).

We created an ONFT bridge for a few reasons:

- Least amount of friction: the moment LayerZero integrates a new chain, it's simple and quick to connect it with other endpoints through an ONFT
- Familiarizing users with LayerZero's unique value propositions and standards in an intuitive manner: ONFTs, OFTs, Refuel

The latter might prove useful once you decide to bridge real ONFTs, such as Gh0stlygh0sts, Lil Pudgys, and Kanpai Pandas, for which we could've created an interface for.

Perhaps if we had launched an ONFT collection, set a max cap, and displayed an image on the frontend, their opinion on us would have been different?

If our ONFT tool was an issue from the outset, we would've appreciated LayerZero approaching us, and we would've disabled it.

The result of it would've been a significant reduction in overall LayerZero messages across the board, considering there are also other projects offering similar services. We could've lived with that.

With that out of the way, not all hope is lost

LayerZero stated that it only becomes an issue if the majority of your transactions consisted of 'low value' transfers.

Example:
If you bridged real assets on platforms like Stargate, Interport, AptosBridge, and others, and occasionally experimented with ONFTs on Merkly, you will very likely qualify.

More clarification will be given upon the release of their Airdrop Checker.

Despite being called out and targeted to some extent, Merkly users per se won't be automatically excluded from the LayerZero Airdrop. Exclusion would only occur if someone ''abused'' it and didn't use Stargate and other bridging dApps.

More clarification soon.

We will continue building and shift our focus to features that the market perceives as value transactions and transfers.

We are not a Sybil Tool, and will let our actions through utility interoperability tools speak for themselves.

Any future ecosystem incentives we receive from projects whose tech we're utilizing will be distributed to our community.

@holographxyz is ONFT bridging-only, but doesn't get filtered because it has a bunch of VCs behind them and adds some nice pictures on the front-end, despite their leaderboard incentivizing spamming ONT bridging

Not meaning to talk down on Omni X and Holograph, as I like both teams behind the projects and have been in contact with them, just laying out my points

Why add projects to your ecosystem page if you just proceed to filter them out in the end and not give a warning in advance that this will honeypot your userbase for using the second most grossing dApp?

Very interesting that the latter two weren't mentioned while serving the exact same purpose
