.@splendourfest what is the event policy for very bad weather? If there is a big lightning storm it is dangerous for so many people to stand in a field with many trees around. Will you cancel? If so, do we get refunds? #splendour#splendourfestival#Nottingham
@JasonManford It would blow the Daily Fail's collective mind if they sat in on a degree course studying Baum's masterpiece(s). It's widely accepted the text is allegorical, about politics, economics, capitalism, populism, and more.
Bunch of nincompoops.
@AndyPlumb4 Riding a bicycle and ranting about dodgy drivers does not a Leftie make. His position on social and cultural issues places him a fair way right of centre. He plays devil's advocate very well during phone-ins which is a staple of the format.
@Urqhuart6@miriam_cates@AllisonPearson Law since 2020. https://t.co/5vbpECo7a5
"Learn about this" seems a bit loaded, it's just covering facts and some legal stuff. Does understanding basic terminology for people in our society worry you?
Great chance to discuss it now as you guide him through his wrong answers :)
@GaryLineker Remember Lee became a Tory because Labour kicked him out for lying and bullying. He tried to get mates to pretend to be random voters for a media piece and had a Barney with a local lady about his demeanour. He's a serial liar and charlatan.
@JjinUk64 @angemwilson @JustStop_Oil@George_Osborne Yes, this shall be known by scholars in 70 years time, as they review the crimes against humanity as "Hochzeitsmassaker mit orangefarbenem Konfetti". Not as snappy as Kristal nacht, but with with Goebbels dead and only a little white haired nanna running across the churchyard...
@ChrisMedlandF1 Surely the tech exists for sensors to be embedded in the kerb and matching ones above the plank. If the car crosses beyond a certain point in relation to the kerb, cut the car's power by 20% for 5 seconds. They'd be sitting ducks on the next straight. They'd behave then!
@BBCBreakfast#bbcbreakfast#breakfast Have a look through this thread of comments, some useful things for you on story of driving test impersonation and test backlogs.
.@BBCBreakfast One of your biggest problems behind delays in booking driving tests is the truly pathetic pay offered to driving examiners. ยฃ26k for a highly skilled specialist role with high risk is madness. For instructors considering the switch it's a HUGE income drop (10-15k).
The best solution to all of these problems? Introduce biometric licences with fingerprint and facial recognition details stored on chip. Apply at a post office or other govt buildings (job CTR, courts) and have scans done there. MUST match on test to take it. Expensive though.
@jessphillips 13 years of austerity freezes and refusal to give recommended increases, means public sector pay hasn't been driving inflation - and yet inflation reached double figures. Paying public workers more hasn't been a factor, they're not to blame, but they're suffering!
Everything they are doing to the NHS they did to British Rail.
Underfunded it, exhausted the service, got the public angry, and then said privatisation is the solution.
Please RT if you wonโt fall for it.
The UK Statistics Authorityโs response to my enquiry is clear: Sunak & his ministers have stood at the despatch box and made completely false & deeply misleading claims about the size of the asylum backlog when Labour left office in 2010. Desperate stuff. https://t.co/ztU4x5sOn4
@GaryLineker Great work Gary. Its people like you, with a public profile, who the rest of us need to speak out and make leaders squirm. Their response demonstrates they're in the wrong and they know it.
