@Sentdex@YourLocalAILab Uff that's great. The economics don't really work for me. But I have to find a way.
Glm 5.3 flash is such a great model. I can live on that for a while.
Enjoy it!
@Sentdex@YourLocalAILab This pause AI and probably ban Open Weight has me trying to take precautions. May I ask, did you get these rtx pro for other purpose some years ago or specifically for local inference recently?
@Noahpinion They were never scared of climate change.
They saw a market with guaranteed demand. The west was so taken by the idea of green energies they basically signed the check before stating production.
And they produced cheaply and good enough. Then they used it in their country.
@rynorhn It is necessarily political.
This is asking whether to trust elite institutions or not. The question is literally centralized or distributed power. In what world is that not political.
If AI could not foresee that, we are nowhere near AGI.
I understand that pacing due to AI Doom is basically siding with Anthropic financially speaking. While being against it is siding Nvidia.
But that is not the motivating factor. Open, freely accessible models is the right future and if Nvidia wins so be it.
If “but China” is your qualm about pacing the frontier you can’t *also* be for exporting all kinds of chips to China, that’s just “make NVIDIA stock go up” not a real policy toward China or artificial intelligence.
This AI Pacing stuff had me quite worried.
It's for me extremely obvious that the actual, tangible danger - what we do have evidence for - is that concentration of power in such an extreme way would definitely lead to a new kind of Feudalism.
astonishing blogpost from Shengyu Liu (刘胜与, also known as interestingLSY/intlsy), kernel engineer at DeepSeek. The first part is his personal struggle with the fact that his work is about to render his beloved craft obsolete. The second is…
well. let's just say we agree.
@thdxr That free tier with Muse Spark and previously DeepSeek flash feels amazing.
That's speed, quality and cost is just so good. I hope it doesn't ever go away.
Muse Spark 1.3 is rolling out today with frontier performance almost too cheap to meter. This is the biggest jump we've made so far on coding and agentic work. Try it in Muse Code and our API.
Next up 🍉 and Muse Spark open weights releases coming soon.
