Watched this with my dad and it was the thing that finally opened the floodgates. Full on waterworks thinking about everything we went through with this team during our lives. God bless sports
I originally posted this two years ago, the morning of Game 7 of the ECF (before John Leguizamo copied/pasted it). The words/sentiment still apply:
For Knicks fans out there that feel like they're about to throw up, I'll repeat what I've said multiple times during this incredible run: Try your best to appreciate it.
Pressure is a privilege.
Think about all those meaningless games you sat through for 20+ years. Think back on the Isiah Era, all the awful trades, and botched draft picks. Or trying to convince yourself that Moochie Norris, Frank Ntilikina, Willy Hernangómez or Damyean Dotson would develop into reliable starters.
Talking yourself into believing Steve Francis or T-Mac might resurrect their careers in NYC. Praying for saviors via free agency, only to watch one after another spur the city. Having to root for losses during entire seasons spent taking, only to get burned in the lottery.
During those days, you'd have given anything to feel the anxiety you now can't escape.
A 24-8 gap in Game 3 second-half free throws highlights the ability of NBA refs to put a thumb on the scale to extend a seven-game series, if they are so inclined. https://t.co/argZRqagOm
Wemby got a Flagrant 2 in Game 4 vs Minnesota. This results in 2 Flagrant points.
Wemby assaulted Alvarado in Game 2 and Brunson in Game 3 and got no Flagrant 1s or Flagrant 2s.
If you get 4 Flagrant points you receive a 1 Game suspension. NBA is clearly protecting Wemby.
Spotify unveiled a new billboard near Madison Square Garden celebrating the Knicks' Finals run, featuring a fan-made playlist titled “Waiting for this since ’99.” 🏀🗽
