I reported the principal that SA'ed me in the school bathroom when I was 4 years old.

The principal was protected instead of me.

I reported it when my neighbor across the hall pulled me into his apartment and tried to SA me. Some teen boys down the hall saved me.

The police believed his story over mine.

We reported the drag queen that SA'ed the friend I invited to an LGBT Pride event, also in a bathroom.

They laughed, and told us "That's just how she is".

Yet, somehow, when I told a male friend to report what happened to him, I thought it would be different. It had to be, right?

The assailant has AIDS, and has made it abundantly clear to his victims (yes, we've confirmed there's more than one) that he intends to spread it before he leaves this world. To improve the odds of this, he cuts the victims--who are out of it from whatever drug he slips in their drink--and mixes their blood together.

Surely this would be something the local health unit would want to address quickly? Or the police?

No. And I was a fool for believing otherwise.

After doubting the victim...

After saying to the victim "Are you sure you're not gay/didn't want it?"...

After not even speaking to or investigating the accused assailant...

The investigation was dropped after a few short months of silence, and the health unit deemed that it wasn't a health risk to the community.

So, although SA is a brutal and ugly problem across the globe, this post in particular is a big CONGRATS to a small city in Ontario, Canada.

Congratulations! 👏

Your response to SA, and other similar crimes, has neither evolved nor improved in the past 40 years.

Yeah, I had to take some time off to deal with some personal stuff--including some health-related things. I'm trying to slowly ease back into things.

And I'm witnessing that hatred in Canada, sadly.
I've watched the hatred grow within the community group for my hometown since the October attack. What started as, in their words, support for the Palestinians they naively called "innocent victims of war and genocide" has quickly escalated to just raw contempt and hostility towards Jews.
They feel vindicated for their actions & words, no matter how inhumane or cruel, and prefer to use dissociative terms in order to dehumanize anyone who is Jewish--or just supports Israel, or disagrees with them in general (terms such as Nazi, Trump Tory, etc.).

I've tried to have civil conversations on more than one occasion in the group--typically to correct misinformation--but all I get in response are insults, name-calling, and baseless accusations. I've recently had to make everything private, including the accounts associated with my small business.

With my health the way it is, this is one of many reasons why I'm glad I moved out of Canada when I did.

Right now I won't even get into what happened with my mother when she recently went into the hospital, but we're just lucky my brother was diligent about being there to supervise everything.

Found guilty of sexually abusing four (4) of his female patients by the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2015.

Following the initial charges against him, he was allowed to continue to see new female patients in Ontario, Canada (under supervision by a nurse) until his court date--including myself. We were never notified of the charges against him.

Did he go to jail? No.
He was allowed to return to his home country in Pakistan, where he grossly continues to practice medicine in a country that's known for violating women's rights.

Who believes there needs to be a change?
