What an incredible and historic run our seniors have had, making it to 3 consecutive Final Fours and winning the school's first-ever Division 1 State Championship in basketball in 2024! Their remarkable achievements on and off the court represent perhaps the greatest four-year stretch in our basketball program’s illustrious 140-year history.

Most impressive is how this group excelled academically, earning Academic All-State Honors for three straight years and placing 2nd, 5th, and 12th among all Division 1 schools for highest team GPAs—averaging an outstanding 3.7 GPA. Their commitment to excellence truly reflects what it means to be student-athletes.

As their coach, I am overjoyed by their success on the court.....As an alumnus, I am even more proud and grateful for how they've represented OUR school with integrity, humility, and character. This journey has always been about more than just basketball—it’s been about OUR SCHOOL, upholding the values we stand for, and most importantly, winning with class but also losing with class.

As St. Mary’s graduates proudly say, “We arrived at St. Mary’s as young boys and are leaving as men of St. Mary’s.” These seniors aimed to leave a legacy and make history, and without a doubt, they have accomplished exactly that.

It's extremely disappointing that Sharod Barnes @underated_rod was not selected to the All-State Team. We need to find a better way to evaluate and recognize players.
