Forgive me for my rant, but I can't hold back...

It's probably better for me to write this when I'm a little less upset, but I'm hoping at least one person reads this and changes their behavior.

The missiles being sent by Iran are lethal. Many of Iran's missles escape Israel's defensive measures, land, and if they hit people, are lethal. A bomb shelter can't protect against a direct hit, as we saw in Beit Shemesh, but it can protect against shrapnel and falling missile debris.

Yesterday, Israel's pikud ha'oref changed its directives and instructed people to immediately find a bomb shelter when the sirens sound. There are no more 90 seconds to find shelter. Jews are smart people, and religious Jews know the Torah tells us not to rely on miracles, but to take efforts to protect ourselves from danger.

This is why I don't understand people who don't rush into bomb shelters when the sirens sound. I've seen videos of people standing on their porches today with sirens sounding in the background, I've heard kids playing outside while I'm sheltering in my ma'amad, and yesterday I was praying in a minyan when the sirens went off, and mid-Amidah I ran to the shelter with my son, and was astounded that others stayed and finished praying!

Please, if you're reading this, appreciate the technology we have that warns us of incoming missiles and take shelter. If you're a parent, make sure your children come inside your shelter! Be the example for them, this is life and death.
