My Game:

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

Haven't done this in years, Posting a video of my game that I believe will show it in a positive light.

I've been crunching so incredibly hard the past month trying to bring to life a revolutionary control scheme I'm dubbing "MASHLESS" that allows the player to execute a full set of combat manuevers and attacks with nothing but directional input!

And I'm showing it off here, appologies for the crappy play (you'd think i'd be better at playing my own game after laboring over it for so many forsaken years), but it's difficult playing a game with phone controls using a darned mouse!

Anyhow, don't expect this post to get many eyes, maybe it will, but the algorythm is fickle.

It's like they always says, "You gotta start somewhere!" And starting today we start posting videos of our game, and every time we make a post, that's a small, small chance that maybe our game can get some eyes and we can start turning our luck around.

So anyway, this is our grand "MASHLESS" reveal, I've so much faith and blood sweat and tears in this project, but we've still a ways to go...

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

Yeah, it's easy to blame the CEO's, because they wholly and completely FUCKED THIS ENTIRE INDUSTRY UP.

Gave all the money to these incompetent studios, allowed the love bombings and cults of personalities to take hold and destroy the west.

The CEO's fucked up, the STUDIOS fucked up, the DEVELOPERS fucked up.

And the GAMERS themselves aren't any fucking better.

It's a MASSIVE SHIT SHOW of incompetence, back scratching, greed, and nepotism.

The only thing these assholes DIDN'T concern themselves with was working hard and providing great games with earnest hard work, and faith in the medium.

The whole of this industry deserves to burn.

[Stuttering Craig (Official) @StutteringCraig]

It’s very easy to blame the CEO…

But you can also very much blame the activism/ideology that made the game a joke and caused it to drastically underperform that forced the CEO to close a legendary studio

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

@impgud @jadel4w @_ArturoLagos_ @georgebsocial Yeah i would say that nothing much good is coming from this conversation.

I'm not even sure what we're arguing about, kinda lost the thread a while back.

Best of luck to everyone.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

I'm no senior, I was a grunt, I did all the hard work, and not trying to ignore your requests for discord I'm just tired and not wanting to try to set that all up.

You're young dude, as you say the world is complex, none of us fully percieve it, we're all trying to make sense of things in a way that we can survive, and there's nothing really wrong with that.

We're all just people trying to make it in our own way.

I honestly don't have the energy right now to do justice for what I want to say.

Mostly it just comes down to we need to start making cool shit, and we need to stop with the toxic positivity and we need to call each other out where we're doing things that led to where we are now as an industry.

I know I can myself be pompous and shitty, good on you guys for calling me out on it.

But in my mind and my heart I have earnest and legitimate reasons for airing these things.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

You seem like a nice enough dude, try not to take this personal.

But good people have become part of a larger, evil machine, and they don't even percieve it.

I know you think I'm crazy, that's fine, I'd lived with this for a long time now.

Perhaps in time people will have a more rounded view of the world, a lot of people are living in echo chambers of late.

Or who knows, maybe i'm just the crazy wacko, that's entirely possible...

It is what it is.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

I'm good, I'm working on a great game, left this industry to get away from smarmy, high and mighty tribalists like those of you in this thread.

Looks like the AAA industry finally woke up to who you all are as well.

I don't like making these posts, I don't like telling you guys you need to grow up, but you do.

For your own good. I know you think you're trying to help, I know this post makes me the asshole.

But please, try to be a bit more humble, and stop feeling as though you guys are the arbiters of what is right and true, and the gatekeepers of this industry.

I hate to even indulge this conversation because it was so petty, I'm just an idiot goofball that doesn't know what i'm talking about.

I've worked in this industry for years and years been on many team,s I'm not speaking out of my ass, and I know how these conversations work and this fabrication of the reality you guys want to live in.

It's kind of gross, what you guys do, you feed off of each other, you build each other up to such insane degrees, it's part of this sick arrangement that's built into this industry and why it became so toxically positive.

I'm ok, I'm working hard on a game in my lonesome.

I wish it wasn't so, I wish there was a more sane industry with great peopel to work with, but you guys drove each other insane, and you instituted all this horrid gatekeeping.

You can look at this thread, you can say you were wanting to help.

But if you take a step back, it's the usual tribalism, you scratch our back, you join our little cult of affirmations and you can be let in. You can have the affirmations, we will say your game is cool we will say you're one of the "good ones" and then I can have a seat at the table.

You guys don't even percieve this, you don't see the cult you are living in because you are submerged in this, you don't know any other way.

And over these dreadful years, gaming has bled, and meritocracy died. ANd now we're all watching as our careers die, and our crafts die, and you guys are still sitting there crying into each others ears how evil everyone else is and how wonderful you all are.

I'm good dude. I appreciate the concern. But what's going to get me out of my rut, is hard work and elbow grease.

I have an industry to help rebuild up from the pools of toxic positivity and cult of personality that you lost imposed on all of us.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

I know nothing about you? I've just listened to you run your mouth over several posts, discount nearly eveyrthing I've said, and taken the rest of what i've said out of context and woven fabrications.

This is ALWAYS how this dialogue goes, it doesnt' matter what I say, it will be misheard, and you petulant assholes will believe what you want to believ,e hear what you want to hear and then use that as justification for your wretched behavior.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

@impgud @jadel4w @_ArturoLagos_ @georgebsocial Holy shit, you guys are so fucking up your own asses it's embarassing.

You come into this conversation and just prove my every point right.

It's actually nausiating how smug, condescending, and tribal you smarmy, immature shit heads are.

Good fucking god.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

You shit stains have subjected this world to so much darkness and you have no fucking idea.

This is the usual concern trolling you smarmy shits indulge in.

Dont fucking patronize me prick, spare me you horse shit.

You guys rode high on the hog for over a decade making everyone else's lives miserable as you indulged one another.

Get fucked.

No I'm not ok, this industry isn't ok.

Any other spiteful, hurtful shit you need to get out there?

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

@TimSweeneyEpic @migueldeicaza You can't go wrong with the sampler

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

I quit the gaming industry because these spiteful tribalists would praise and mock along idiological lines. For over a decade they have lorded over this industry with an iron fist.

They have made the already difficult process of making great games a living fucking hell.

[Jade Law @jadel4w]

@SeaCritDev @_ArturoLagos_ @georgebsocial Well apparently hard work doesn’t matter?
Only that the audience is happy. I think it’s ugly. I don’t like it so you should lose your job.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

You and those like you are everything that is wrong with modern video games.

I tried to relate with you here, I tried to find a middle ground and give you the benefit of the doubt.

You're just like the rest of them. Spiteful, tribal, cynical, selfish, and self indulgent.

Fuck off.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

They're only proving the sentiments against them correct, but they can't help themselves.

This is what they do, they attack and destroy. That's how they forced themselves on the industry.

"Give us what we want and we will love bomb the everloving shit out of you, but go against us and... well just doesn't go against us, LOVE YA!"

These tricks worked for years, and now they are paying for it.

This is why you don't negotiate with terrorists...

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

They didn't have any intentions, they had no forward thinking.

Like a child that eats too much candy and gets diabetese, or a druggy that overdoses. They just did what they wanted with reckless abandon.

They didn't think they could be stopped or ever face consequences because there was an element of strength to this.

They canceled people so hard and forced their orthodoxy so fervently that in the work place, in that bubble they had absolute control and power.

But what they refused to see, because it was uncomfortable, was that their games were not doing well in the eyes of the consumer the the products were starting to languish.

They were not interested in working hard, and competing, Eastern developers were and good for them.

Nothing but respect to the East, glad there are devs out there that can carry the torch while the west dopped it in the cold mud.

For over a decade those of us in the gaming industry that wanted to do the hard work and provide the customers what we all wanted were called racists and bigots. They employed subterfuge in a million and one ways in the work place.

If you were seen browsing the wrong website, or watching a Critical Drinker video, you were put on "THE LIST"...

Slowly cut form social circles, overlooked for upward mobility and, in time, outright let go.

The schmoozers, the back scratchers, the toxically positive, the always smiling, and overly positive cannibalized the entire industry as they smiled, jocked and jeered, RELISHING in the bodies piling up of their slain enemies.

Now these DICK HEADS, all as one demand we mourn the loss of their jobs, the loss of control they held over the industry with bloodied knife.

For YEARS we had to listen to these posers wax poetic about how progressives and leftoids were the creative ones. That gamedev is predominantly leftist because leftists were the creative ones, they were the smart ones, they were the artists and the thinks.

For 10 years you SMARM FUCKS gleefully owned this industry and through every subversive tactic, collectively shat on your coworkers, your countrymen, your customers, and the fragile practice of gamedev.

All so you could huff your fucking farts, and cash easy paychecks.

Musta been nice while it lasted, the free ride is over.

Now we all must suffer this horrific decline.

FULL CLIP: Asmongold says the number one reason game studios fail is that when activists are involved in development, they don’t care about video games and instead push their ideology after reacting to EA shutting down BioWare 👀

“This is the big problem, is that whenever you have activists inside of video games, the big thing that's a problem is that activists don't care about video games fundamentally. It's not like the activist. All they wanna do is, they just wanna make a character g*y. The problem is that whenever you have those people that are involved in development, they have no interest in what the gameplay loop is. They have no interest in how fun it is to play. They have no interest in how interesting this boss fight is. They don't care about the narrative outside of how it dovetails into their ideology”

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

I'm literally just reading what you've posted in this thread.

You have to understand, I had my career decimated because of how this industry unfolded, that has an affect on your life, not a positive one.

And I can throw this back at you.

You're the one making assumptions.

About developers, about gamers.

The true monolith here is the culture of the modern AAA industry.

I'll concede that yes this is twitter and yes most gamers here are pretty petty and not very thoughtful, but it's not a represnetation of all gamers everywhere, like you say you're a gamer.

It's a complex and nuanced topic.

Anyway, I don't know if either of us are making great points or saying anything of substance, I get the feeling more than anything we're both just airing grievances and seeking to make the other look bad, which isn't doing either of us any favors.

Sorry shit's tanking in this industry, I'm not trying to say that in a back handed way, I share the frustrations and sense of loss.

It's a really shitty time to be a maker of games, has been for a bit.

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

@jadel4w @_ArturoLagos_ @georgebsocial I mean that kinda stings because I've worked really hard on it. What about my game is bad, how could I make it better?

[IllTemperedTuna @SeaCritDev]

@EndymionYT A human centipede of greed and grandstanding.

The two factions fed off each other gaming was starved of the vital nutrients of hard work and talent.
