Sir Jim sacked a proper director of football for Wilcox, who have little to no experience in that role .

If you compare the CV of wilcox to other director of Football in the top Clubs he is death last.

How to get the Glazers out? 👇

🔺I am not an expert on that. But personally, right now, I do not believe in boycotting the club or doing anything that hurts it or its sponsors. The club is never paying dividends again. Less income = more people fired and more expensive tickets.

But I definitely think it is possible to get rid of the Glazers right now.

🔺I am of course also not an expert on legal aspects of UK infrastructure projects.

But I do believe that, for various reasons including planning, complete political support is required to get a new Old Trafford built.

If @MU_ST, @The__1958 and other supporter groups jointly (a) declare that they have lost all faith in the Glazers and Ineos as owners of Manchester United and (b) actively work to stop a new stadium being built while they are the owners — could that political support really be obtained?

🔺Under these circumstances, will Ineos stick around? I very much doubt it.

Ineos invested in United for publicity and vanity. As Ineos have said themselves, they greatly underestimated the support the club needs (“things were much worse than feared”). Even if it is very hard to map Ratcliffe’s finances — the industry he operates in, is under tremendous strain at the minute.

If Ineos resigns from managing the club and puts its shares up for sale, the Glazers must do the same. It would be a tremendous mess for them: they could never get the new stadium, and the club’s value could tank if they don’t act rapidly.

Ineos won’t come out of it looking that bad. They can throw the Glazers under the bus. “Look, we did the best for the club under tough circumstances. We tried, but nothing more could be done.”

🔺If I were MUST and the 1958s, I would join up, request an immediate meeting with the club, Ineos and the Glazers, and inform them that you have lost faith in them as owners, and that this faith can only be restored if they restore, within four weeks, Manchester United’s ability to compete on equal financial terms with the top Premier League clubs, including Manchester City. This can be done in several ways; one sufficient way is cleaning the LBO debt off MUFC’s balance sheet.

Then I would state in no uncertain terms that if they fail to do so, the supporter trust and the 1958s will use all resources and means at their disposal to prevent a new stadium from ever being built for as long as the Glazers and Ineos own the club.

🔺The Glazers and Ineos have the right to make tough decisions: fire half the workforce, increase ticket prices, reduce the number of season tickets. When doing so, they will think about no one except themselves and their expensive hobbies, which must be financed by United.

As a supporter of Manchester United, individually or as part of a group, you also have the right to do what you want.

The feasibility of a gain for an owner of shares in MUFC Ltd is completely dependent on a new stadium being built. A supporter of Manchester United has no obligation to play along with those plans when it means the club will fall further into disgrace over the next 10–15 years. Instead, pressure can be put — through political lobbying — on the current owners that takes this option off the table. They can then choose whether to stick around and take responsibility for the mess they have created, or cash out.

⚠️I love Rio and often like his takes on things. Berrada and Wilcox are employees and have nothing to do with Ineos/Glazers.

But I believe that very few evaluate Ineos in the proper light because they do not have track of United’s finances and also have been fed a lot of misleading information by the Glazers through Woodward and co.

This is very important and I think United would benefit greatly if more pundits and fans took their time and really looked into this. I do not dispute Ineos intentions — but are their plans credible at all?

🔺1. The Glazers claims that they have supported United enough to compete with City — but that the reason City has left United in the dust is because United spent poorly.

I would say that this is complete nonsense and that it never even remotely have been reasonable for United to compete with City after Fergie left. It is not even close.

These are indisputable facts. The graph below to the left list United and City’s player wages next to each other. These are numbers directly from each club’s annual reports adjusted for money paid to non-playing staff (United pays a slightly bigger portion of its total employee cost to non player since it has many more employees). So these numbers are factual — unlike what you read in the paper about how big wages a player got after a leak from the team.

Look at the differences! One player earning 200k a year is 10m. In 19/20 — City paid ~90m more in player wages than United. Fact.

Indisputable facts are that United — never — have paid particularly competitive wages. At least if you remove 21/22. The Glazers have lied about paying high wages. That is it. Nobody can dispute that.

Then look at the graph to the right. It lists all transfer fees paid adjusted for inflation according to the Laws-Maguire method.

It is simply — absurd — to claim that any manager after Fergie ever should have competed with City. Absurd. Like take a look at the 13/14 season. Look how much City had spent up to that season and look how much the Glazers had spent on the squad Moyes had. Take a look at the 16/17 season and Mourinho’s squad. The 10 preceding years City had spent 3.5bn adjusted for inflation and United had spent 2bn adjusted for inflation. That is on average 150m more per season.

Everton and West Ham have never had a real chance to compete with Man United in the PL and United never had a real chance to compete with City.

United never could have competed with City even if we were run as good as they are run.

🔺2. It is — completely unrealistic — to expect Ineos to improve United’s financial situation significantly by cutting work force, increasing ticket prices and making good transfer business.

It is very simple math. United 1.1bn in debt. If United make a 100m yearly profit it takes 11 years to pay off the debt.

City today have — higher — commercial revenue than United (like it or not). If both United and City make it to like the QF of the CL, City makes a lot more money since their UEFA ranking is higher.

Even if it wasn’t for the debt United is behind City — and to just halve the debt, it takes FIVE YEARS starting an additional MINUS £150m behind City.

Ineos has run United for 2 years — and the debt has only increased. It is a fact.

3. We just spent 150m a summer before a CL season with a massive investment need. Will things get better? If we qualify for the CL again in 27/28 we will surely invest more in the squad. If not — the debt will increase again next season.

BUT — City just spent £460m. City have a wage bill that is more than 120m higher than United’s. So does Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

All other clubs have owners who pump in loads of money to get into the new CL.

👉I simply do not think that it even remotely is reasonable for United to be a top 3 club in the PL — without significant owner support. Ie not cost cutting, not rising ticket prices, not smart deals — but genuine financial support. Around at least 900m-1.6bn.

Why is it "sensible" that Man United only spent a fraction of what Man City spent on its midfield rebuild? I think its an absurd choice of wording by @PeteHall86.

Man United is England's biggest club who after being parasited by US corporate raiders has been unable to compete for trophies.

Take 5 minutes and check each of the below two graphs.

(1) Is it odd that Man City left United in the dust after Fergie left? It is a miracle that it did not happen earlier.

(2) Has the owners of Man United -- ever -- supported the club in a way that would have made it likely that the club would have made up sizeable ground on Man City? No, not even remotely.

Now people are telling us that it is "sensible" by the Glazers to keep parasiting the club. Okii.....

This is an important topic and I do not think it is viewed from the correct perspective. The only boundaries that exist is the internal budget put in place by the Glazers and Ineos for Berrada and Wilcox.

(a) Man United did not spend more, because the owners of Man United decided to not spend more. There is nothing more to it.

(b) If United had spent twice as much as it did -- it would not have required the owners of Manchester United to take a bigger risk, to accrue more debt or incur bigger losses than -- most -- other PL clubs.

Simply, (a) and (b) are indisputable facts. I will add some underlying data in the replies.

It is very clear that the public relation department of MUFC massage the reporters covering the team to spread the message that it is "sensible" that the club do not spend more. There are so many reports about it. But why should the owners of Manchester United be afford to lean back on "boundaries" and not the owners of Tottenham, Everton, Villa, City, Arsenal, Brighton or any other PL club?

I don’t care who it is within United’s hierarchy, but someone needs to come out and explain this transfer window.

If you cannot engage with fans who are clearly unhappy, you should not be in those positions. They will have been briefed by their media team on the level of anger and frustration among supporters, so hiding away is simply not good enough.

INEOS need to either immediately change course or start the process of walking away from Manchester United. Sir Jim Ratcliffe said himself that if the fans weren’t happy with him, he would walk - so walk.

The Glazers need to start the process of selling this football club as early as possible. I don’t want to hear excuses about why they shouldn’t.

I don’t want to hear excuses about finances from the accounts. I don’t want to hear that INEOS are “not so bad”. I don’t want another round of explanations for why supporters should accept this situation.

The partnership clearly isn’t working.

Enough is enough.

Full reset. That is the only acceptable way forward.

Manchester United are back!

I know I know one swallow doesn’t make a summer and all that.

But let me explain.

First I have supported United for more that sixty years, a decision made by my father the day and hour that Denis Law was signed from Torino. As himself a Scotsman with blonde hair and a whippet like inside left instinct (10) I’m sure my dad thought he WAS Denis Law. And if you ever saw Law you’d know that would be something to be.

So I’ve followed many great United iterations and some not so great. I’ve been with Busby and Ferguson. I’ve been with, well let’s not spoil the mood.

Of course my fellow Scot Sir Alex Ferguson gave me decades of joy and so when my own sons came along I naturally decreed that they were reds. Obviously.

The problem was as my sons arrived Ferguson left. And everything turned to shit. Not entirely- there have been moments- but overwhelmingly I have never shaken the suspicion that my sons must hate that from childhood I had decked them out in the colours of a club that so regularly reduced them to tears, of disappointment or worse of boredom.

Until last night.

As I hugged my eldest in a Dive Bar in Hong Kong while United’s goals flew in his face was wet with tears of joy as was the face of my youngest thousands of miles away. My youngest by the way had just helped his side defeat the historic Third Lanark 3-1, with a goal an assist plus hitting the post and the cross bar!

It wasn’t that we’d slaughtered City 2-0. That we’d had the ball in the net SIX times and twice hit the woodwork. That Amad on a run thrills like Georgie Best. That Casemiro strolled like a King. That Martinez so frustrated Haaland he got hooked. Or that Bruno Fernandes will one day have a statue outside Old Trafford. That Harry Maguire bloodied and bruised defended like he was a VC winner at Rorke’s Drift. It was something deeper than these transitory things.

It was that this had been football played The United Way.

Fast courageous flowing filled with élan. This was football as a thing of joy. This was how Best Law and Charlton filled a United shirt. This was how Cantona made us ooo and aaa. How Roy Keane made us unbeatable. How Giggs and Ronaldo twisted their opponents blood. This was our DNA. We thought it was extinct. But we are back.

Glazer Family used Manchester United's projected revenue as proof to get a loan in their name so they could buy the club with the long term plan to make them wealthy, when the purchase went through it wasn't that long after that they then got another loan but in the clubs name where they then paid off the original loan they got in their name to buy the club, ever since, that debt has been loaded on the club and getting bigger each year because they have just been paying just the interest payments and taking out dividends making all of them very wealthy people! Every transfer made in their 20+ years at the club has not come out of their own pockets... it's come from what the club has generated, they have not put a single penny of their own money into the club which shows you their intentions and what sort of people are running the club which creates a toxic environment where no matter what manager comes in they are going to fail while you have ownership who's motives are not putting the club first, who don't care, money motivated and every area of the club will feel it from the very top which works it's way to the pitch... nothing will ever change until those leeches go and they can take INEOS with them who I believe have made an already toxic environment more toxic, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his people haven't got a clue what they are doing and they have shown that since getting into bed with the Glazer family, both the Glazers and the deluded football structure need to go if we are ever going to challenge for major trophies again!
