True, that's the whole pumpfun scheme, that's how they maintain the high volume they want to farm fees all the time, that's how they finance their paid KOLs to keep shilling the platform and bringing retail, probably most of the famous dev wallets are just pumpfun employees, and the coins that run could also be artificially pumped by algorithmic trading which is something that exists for years before pumpfun existed so it's also nothing new.
Pumpfun started as a great thing for crypto but it slowly become more and more just a big parasite that wants to get all the market share to just get every drop of liquidity they can get.
If you trade on @pumpfun, ask yourself who you’re becoming exit liquidity for.
In my view, bundled launches from anonymous devs dump on retail, while KOLs keep pushing new users into low-cap coins that often rug before they even reach $50K.
If reports of $1M being spent on KOL promotion are accurate, that isn’t growth — it’s a retail-farming loop:
Pay KOLs → funnel in retail → launch bundled coins → rug → repeat.
I call it the rug flywheel.

these farming Kols getting paid $100,000 for some slop 5x cause they got followers
